My center console is a bit sticky in places, especially the aircon panel - any suggestions? As I already have carbon fiber door sills, I am considering a carbon fiber replacement for the whole unit, but have been told that the instument lights will then not shine through at night. Anyone done this? Please enlighten me.
Use the search tab above and enter in key words such as "sticky parts" . You will find the information you are looking for there. Welcome to the group as I see this is your first post.
+1.... search and you will find the answers for this easy fix. What I can tell you is that if you take your time, your center console will be better then new! Good Luck.
http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=173536&highlight=sticky+console+355 CF is one way to go or you can refinish the console and have it look almost like new--pic below of one I did for a fellow Fchatter.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
wow 285 nice work.....I am starting to look for my car finally, was tossing around 550 or 355, big difference but I have decided to go 355. My wife liked the look of the 355 and she said she did not care because it would be sort of my car(not that is a deciding factor but wanted some positive review....how long will that attitude last. Especially when she drives it. Unfortunaletly for me she knows how to drive a stick. My first wife did not, so she could not drive my 911.

PYRO and 285, Thanks for the tips. I will have a look at the search function. Wish me luck! 285, You work looks great. Does the colour match with the other panels?
The overlay is a close match, but not perfect---That is the only way the overlay comes since it made of a thick sticker material, but looks very nice..
I have the textured paint, but no one so far has wanted it---Most everyone wants the stock smooth finish on the knobs... I can do a textured, flat black or rubberized finish for the knobs---Each set of knobs is slightly different. So I use whichever finish will look the best. Some knobs are so bad a textured finish would look best , but not stock looking
285ferrari, do you sell these ? Just wondering in case I come to need some in the future ? Are there any other interior parts you sell ? Any website ? Thanks Ulf
Ricambi sells the overlay (Fchat sponsor). You can also search for Pyroguy. My threads will come up when I refinished the sticky parts and used the Ricambi overlay. I didn't paint the knobs, just cleaned/stripped the old finish. You can also see a comparison on one of my threads on 2 different types of plastic paint finishes.
Like Steve said above---I get the overlay from Ricambi. Most every interior part can be refinished with great success, but new parts are always available from Ricambi if you choose that route..... I will be listing the refinishing service I offer on the 355 registry site soon..
Thanks 285 I did my hvac panel and the nicer it looks the worse the knobs look. Im gonna try the textured on them also....... Chas
