I'm having a hard time understanding the logic behind drilling the bearing cover. If one wants to cool the bearing, wouldn't it be best to simply not install the bearing cover?
Ken, I've never seen an F355 Challenge with a hole drilled in its rear bearing cover. There's enough cooling with the circumfrential holes in the rear housing and clutch cooler/cover mounted to cool the rear bearing. Barry
All of the 355CH cars had the hole drilled in the bearing cover. It was there to release any pressure in the bearing housing from heat. Image Unavailable, Please Login
