F355 Challenge Front and Rear Brake cooling ducts

Anyone have pictures of what the front duct setup looks like? The standard 355 has 1 duct on each side, but I believe the Challenge cars have 2 ducts on each side (fronts).

For those of us who have standard cars and challenge front bumpers, we have two options:

1. Widen the FRP duct (the black piece that connects to the bumper) to fit the challenge bumper to keep the original single duct design.

2. Purchase the challenge FRP duct which comes with 2 exit slots to run dual exit ducts which are then mounted on to an FRP disc which directly cools the brakes. You will have to find the FRP discs for both, which is rather hard to come by.

I was lucky enough to find a full front and rear set from Japan, which will be in on its way in a few weeks. I am just not exactly sure how the FRP discs mount behind the rotors. Pics/diagrams would be appreciated .

 

That's better than nothing. I couldn't find anything with a google search. Looks like you're missing a linking duct . I am going to assume they don't stay on for very long.

 

What exactly is the duct bolted to behind the rotor?

 

What's coming is:

A pair of front FRP Discs.

1 LH FRP front duct. I need to find an affordable RH FRP duct. There's one on ebay for $600, which is I think is too high. I need to take a splash off someone's .

A pair of rear FRP Discs.

A pair of Challenge rear diffusers.

And 4 beat up hoses and clamps.


As long as I get these in my hands and figure exactly what is needed to mount the FRP discs behind the rotors, I will have a good solution .

It might be worth the wait for my solution than cut up your OEM duct. Unless you can find them cheap, then go for it. Doesn't hurt to have more cooling. Consider it as an added benefit to the bumper you bought .

 

When you have the opportunity Tim, can you snap pics of how the disc mounts? Special bracket needed?
