My car still has the PSCR sticker on the drivers side headlight bucket. The other bucket has the Shell logo. On my blank buckets (no lights in them) I have no stickers.

    Ira,

That is a great looking car. Love the paint and logos!

Was never sure about The Auto Toy Store based on their ads or what I read, but I will have to reserve judgement... Since I have no first hand knowledge.

I did like seeing all the cars they had! :)

    Robb,

I would like to get a package of OEM Decals for the 99 Ferrari Challenge. I have seen a few on ebay but, not sure on the actual size, etc... It sure would be nice to see F355 Challenge cars all cleaned up looking new with OEM time period decals for todays crowds.

It looks like you have to assemble the logos separately one by one. I'll see what my original crew chief and mechanic can tell me about the way they got them done and sized back then.

If I had access to OEM I can scan/output to the vinyl format (PDF, DXF, JPG, etc..) so we can all have the same size from one location/source? I don't have the machine to print out but, those are everywhere... Willing to help if I can.

IMSA/PSCR supplied their decals directly to the teams with instructions for mounting given in their rule book. FNA supplied the IMSA/Ferrari Challenge decals in 1995 and 1996. The sponsors supplied decals to the teams and they were placed in the positions indicated in the Challenge manual. Individual drivers obtained their own approved sponsor decals.

Race number decals had to be sized according to the IMSA/PSCR specifications in their rule book.

Arrow decals pointed to the tow hooks and battery cut-off cable pull loop. The fire suppression system had to have the E placard. DOOR HANDLE decals appeared later in the series because of of the hidden handles on the F355.

Some cars had an exterior electric fire suppression button which I've illustrated in the picture I've attached. These were generally removed when the car was retired from the Challenge Series as was mine. You can imagine how frequently fire suppression systems were inadvertently set off.

Decals would be changed from race to race. My car looked a bit diiferent a few months later at the 1995 Seitel Texas World Grand Prix Ferrari Challenge.

The sponsor decals can be obtained from Acromann. A good graphics shop has licensed access to vector art for these companies. You need only specify the sizes of the decals you need.

Sometimes the track's logo was applied to the car, for example the Seitel logos on the #4 car.

    Robb,
Your skepticism is warranted, but I should add that while that was not the easiest transaction I've ever done, the ownership of ATS has changed multiple times since then and I can't speak to the current regime.
That was indeed a good car, but not as nice as my current Grigio Met. example- it's a bit quicker and equipped with big F40 Brembos, so . . .

Sorry for the tangent, but I think some of you will get a chuckle out of this.

Around '98 or '99, FoW was hosting one of its F1 viewing parties. As "window dressing" they got an ex-Nigel Mansell F189 in the showroom. As it was being moved into position prior to the party, someone tripped the fire suppression system. Imagine having to call the owner and explain that one..... (or worse, being the person who did it! Nope, wasn't me! Thank goodness.... :p)

There are always curious bystanders who ask "What does this button do?" as they press on the button. I know one experienced Challenge driver who put his helmet down on his hood while talking to someone and discharged the system.

It's best that you call them. They'll print as many as you want. :)

I had them on my earlier 348CH, but was unable to find them when I acquired my current one, so I'd love a pair if you're able to have good replicas made. THANKS.

    All,

Please see the other thread I started yesterday with order info for these at www.signarama-kenilworth.com

They won't be doing the set-up and running these until Monday, so you can place orders via phone or email through the weekend.

    Jason
