    The F355 "By-pass tube" is referenced in the Ferrari Part Manual as item #4 of the exhaust system. It looks like there is several version of this item depending on the country.

    Does anybody knows the difference between them?

    168977 Complete By-pass tube - Valid for not catalyzed cars
    164526 Complete By-pass tube - Valid for USA and CDN
    168827 Complete By-pass tube - Valid for CH, S and J

    It's because there are slightly different mufflers (silencers) for each of those country designations.

    168988 - Muffler (not for US, CDN, AUS, SA, ZA, J)
    168568 - Muffler (for US, CDN, AUS)
    165184 - Muffler (SA, ZA, J)

    Should we hence conclude that by-pass tube reference #168977 comes without any metalic CATs?
