Got my F355 Spiders test results back today.
    It's a 1997, Manual with 23,500 miles on it.

    1 - 11.4 bar - 165.4 psi
    2 - 10.9 bar - 158.1 psi
    3 - 12.2 bar - 177 psi
    4 - 13.2 bar - 191.5 psi
    5 - 12.6 bar - 182.8 psi
    6 - 13.1 bar - 190 psi
    7 - 12.9 bar - 187.1 psi
    8 - 12.9 bar - 187.1 psi

    Does this sound about right?

The first two seem to be low in comparison. What do you think is the problem/can be done?

Wow!! Those numbers are all over the place. Take that car for a good STRONG blast down a desereted streach of rd. Really ring it out, and get those RPM's up there. Go back and do the test with the eninge still warm..and see what you get..looks to me that you are a city deweller with your car..LOL

If these number turn up to be the same..your timing could be out on one bank. I'm assuming the numbers as you have writen them corospond to the correct cylinder in the engine..

yeah a couple seem a bit low, nothing alarming but certainly eyebrow-raising. i'm no techie so you can wait for someone else to pitch in some methods for elucidating the cause...

what prompted you to do the test?

It is the differance between the cylinders that is most important as the actual readings are dependant on many factors ( battery cond. starter efficiency, gearbox oil temp ,ambient temp , accuracy of the gauge ,water temp ,etc. etc. ). A 5 % variation is normal and up to 10 % acceptable .

Your readings do seem a little odd I would run it for 1000 miles and recheck them before the warranty expires .

    Hi Wally,

    I'll try that, thanks.

You know the situation with my car but the main dealer has told me that the results are fine. You'd think they'd jump at the chance to an expensive repair wouldn't you?

    What was your results?

    Paul,
As I said in PM all 8 between 10.5 & 11.0 Bar . This test was done as part of the acceptance checks for Ferrari to put thier Power warrenty on the car ,they had to do it twice as I had reqested a print out of the readings the first print had to be logged with F.
    Wally.
