I need some help! After a 350 mile drive during a local rally I came home to notice my right side driving light was broken. I have searched high and low with no luck whatsoever. I don't care if it's new or used or OEM or a reproduction but it seems impossible to come by. I've seen several sites that show they have it in stock but after ordering multiple times I have had no luck. The part number is 164473. Anyone have any ideas? I'm at such a loss on what to do I was wondering if I can contact a glass blower to make a new lens cover for me.

It would be helpful if you could post a photo of the damage to give members a better idea for repair options. Also, try emailing Terry Francis at Maranello Classic Parts directly, [email protected]. Terry has been successful in locating hard to find parts for me, in what he refers to as Nooks and Crannies all over the world. Another option for repair or replacement, contact Aaron Thayer at Farland Classic Restoration in Denver, 303-761-1245…

Ferrari obviously never made fog lamps: this is an off-the-shelf product that was most certainly used on other vehicles at the time. It looks practically identical to Iveco 41221083 - but obviously some additional research is necessary to confirm this hypotheses.

Also, Superformance sells them here though they are currently unavailable. Perhaps you could adapt the EU version to USA spec? Can't be that different. Or you could just harvest the lens.

I went through the same recently and searched all over the dealer network in Europe, ended up finding a good used one but there is a seller in Belgium that says he got brand new ones but he wants insane money for one, close to 1000 euros.

Harvesting the lens is something that didn't occur to me. I do wonder how they're attached to the housing but that could be a viable option. I'm hoping 05elise's one works out. I'm astonished they're so hard to come by. I'll be covering them in bulletproof transparent vinyl from now on!

Those Iveco ones look very close. Given they're about £30, why not just order one and see if it fits? the lens maybe a slightly different shape but unless you plan on kneeling down to check on a regular basis, I doubt you'll notice.

    Just a thought.

The Iveco in the link above looks very similar but the lens face is flat and parallel to the body of the light instead of sloped like the original so it will not follow the contours of the opening in the front bumper correctly.

Here is the photo from the link to the Iveco light sitting on the face of its lens.

And here is a photo of the Ferrari light in the same position.

And another from the side showing the slope of the glass on the Ferrari light.

You can readily see from the photos that the Iveco lens is not the same shape or depth as the Ferrari lens even though it certainly looks like it's the same manufacturer that made both of them. I doubt the Iveco light would look or fit correctly at all on the 355.

If you like the idea of switching to LED driving lamps, I believe in the Thread "Shuriks F355 garage" he was able to source some LED versions that appeared to perform better than the incadecent versions.

If mine go that is what I will move toward.

Can the lens practically be separated from the body? If we find a mint condition one, we can re-cast the lens. Wouldn't be glass, but would be durable, especially with a protective film.

That was my thought exactly. I know I'm not the first person this has happened to and it's only going to get harder to source as time goes on.

The glass lens is sealed to the plastic housing with a soft glue/sealant so yes it appears it would be simple to remove the glass lens. I was actually thinking the same thing about having copies casted in plastic when I was looking over my spare light earlier today.

    I agree it might work.
However, those lights generate a lot of heat when on.
I would use a high heat tolerant casting material if available.

Yes you can separate the Ferrari lens and put it on the Iveco one....however Valeo did make the light for right and left side with different positions of the attachment ears, however the Iveco one are the left side for Ferrari, there is no right version from Iveco as it's the same on both sides.

What would be the chances of this newer (and slanted) Valeo fog light lens fitting the Ferrari application? I can't seem to locate the dimensions for this unit but the price seems cheap enough so that one could give it a try.

That one at least looks like the correct slant on the lens although the base looks completely different. It's from a 2005 - 2008 Audi A4 or S4 so it should be easy to find one to measure it and see if it could be glued to the Ferrari housing. They are cheap on Amazon and you could always return it for free. https://www.amazon.com/nobrandname-88895-Fog-Light/dp/B0068M3FPG

Transparent vinyl is available in various thicknesses. I'm not sure why but I've found two thin layers protects noticeably better than one thick layer - on both lenses and painted body surfaces. Additionally on curved surfaces thin layers conform to contours better so adhere better. 30k miles of rock filled canyon roads with nary a cracked lens or paint chip.

I think the heat requirements might be hard to overcome with plastic replacements. We'd have to reproduce the glass or change the bulb type.
