I took this video the other day of my F355 shooting some nice exhaust flames on a 2-3 shift! The car has QV headers, Larini decat pipes and Tubi muffler. Enjoy! :D

Nice! I hope mine will spew flames after I install my decat pipes. I just have to figure out how to make it look like this:

It may look cool but the car isnt running properly when its burning that rich. You may have major engine problems in the future.

Engine is 100%. Just got it back from full top end rebuild/upgrade and major service from FofFL restoration shop. Upgraded with cast iron valve guides and 360 valve seats. Shout out to Garrett, Gabe, Brian, Olivier, the machinist, and the entire team - great experience! Nearly any car can do this without cats.

Only when burning too rich. Yes the when there are cats, they catch and burn off the excess fuel and that happens a lot with the 355. Thats why the cats end up glowing red and screwing up. My 355 has no cats and is turning upwards of 420 horses and never ever does it throw flames out the exhaust.

Someone MUST tell those F1 and ALMS teams to tune their engines correctly then.

They dont have to. They run them that way because they get the most power and then they rebuild them. Many 355s run slightly rich. The tail pipes should be a dark grey not black. Too light a color(almost white) means too lean which is even worse.

About your 420 bhp engine, would you please give more details of how you achieved this figure?
Is this figure an Optimistic estimate, or is It backed up with a dyno read out?

Ive told how a few times on here.
    Cam timing
    Dave Helms gold connector kit
    Bypass valve in garbage can
    Ditto for cats
Tubi exhuast from headers to tailpipes.
But the biggest gain is changing the chips in the main brains and this can only be done in the 2.7. I had mine done at Daytona auto in Toronto. They have one of the best Ferrari mechanics, engineer and designer there. (talk to Alex) They send the settings on your car to Italy to the guys that did the original tuning for Ferrari and they send back the updated chips for your main brains. The 355 was built to run much more horsepower than it does but it was de-tuned to pass specs here in N/A. Mine now revs to 9000rpm and pulls like a train. The difference is seat of the pants difference. My car will pull away from a 360 without a problem.
Above all, you dont just drive these cars. One has to maintane them properly and forget about saving money by buying aftermarket junk which is always being pushed around here. These are expensive cars and need tried and tested parts, not parts made in China, Tiawan or someones garage.

I know ferraris are expensive, I have owned them sinse early 80s (246).
But back to your car, 40 bhp extra is a little more than just a seat in the pants surely. 40 extra bhp is a huge increase on a 355.
I have seen may attempts at squeezing extra hp from 355s over the years only to see very slight gains in power increases after great layout (££s)
I would love to see real world dyno readings for your car. Or even a head to head video with a 360.

I've seen what i thought was a stock lamborgini gallardo shoot flames out the pipes does this mean it was running rich or had cats deleted? Just curious

I wont be going to a dyno in the near future. No need to. I know what my car used to do and what it does now. My mechanic(Massimo) has direct ties to the factory in Italy and has helped design 5 different Ferraris. He was one of Schumachers mechanics for 6 seasons in F1. Even though he no longer works for them, he still effects recalls on models simply by letting them know problems hes found. He and Mike designed much of the 430.(you should see what he can do with a 430) The other mechanic that worked on my car was a lead mechanic for a 355 challenge team and he kept all his notes on cam settings and we set my car to the best settings he and Massimo thought would produce the best power curve. Just the Dave Helms gold kit installation will allow you to feel a difference. Anyone not installing the gold connector kit on their 355 is wasting time driving a slug. Now combine that with revamped main brains and tubis and you will see the diff.
