    Hello Everyone,

I wanted to offer special pricing on our F355 Y-Pipe for our FChat friends. We have adjusted the pricing between the 2.7 and the 5.2 (since the 5.2 pipe is a much more complex design/construction. In the photos below, the 2.7 pipes are straight where the 5.2 is curved.

    2.7 Special Price: $1049
    5.2 Special Price: $1449

    Highlights:

-Fits all Ferrari F355 Berlinettas, GTS, & Spiders 1995-1999

-Maxflo sports racing secondary catbypass replacement pipe for the stock dual cat pipe.

-Fabspeed catbypass pipe is engineered with T304 stainless steel, C.N.C. mandrel bent tubing.

-Simple and direct bolt on replacement.

-Allows increased exhaust flow from the headers to the mufflers, improving power and sound.

-Dual velocity merge collector, precision T.I.G. welded to replace stock cats.

    -Specify 2.7 or 5.2 Motronic

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Written without any hint of malace towards the product portrayed::

In what way is the merge collector able to deal with two different velocities?
Are not the gas velocities from left and right banks essentially the same?
How is a dual velocity merge collector different from a single velocity merge collector?

That is: why is the name "dual velocity" merge collector?

    Hello,

The name dual-velocity merge collector is a bit wordy, huh? Basically, we wanted to point out that the two pipes aren't just crudely welded together like the factory piece. We use a cast merge collector that is similar to the ones we use on our headers to maximize airflow. The term "dual velocity" was used in the description before my time here, but I assume they are just refering to the fact that we are bringing the two banks together, and therefore, (slightly) different velocities. This is different from our header merge collectors which are just dealing with one bank each. Notice the picture below shows our merge collector before being polished versus the factory pipe (5.2). Please note that this is a prototype pipe and is different from our current 5.2 pipe, but the collector is the same.

Yes, you will see power gains with this pipe since we remove the small secondary cats and improve airflow. The gains will be about 5-8 hp. Please let me know if there are any other questions.

Scott you stole my picture! :D or maybe it's just that mine look identical after similar mileage...actually I'm probably on 6k miles...with ceramic coating.

I also agree it's good to get rid of those secondary cats, mine were getting blocked up and had signs of heat build up at the entry. The Fabspeeds are a great solution...or if you're really adventurous it could be a DIY removal, with lots of cutting welding.

Is it possible to get the stock secondary cat pipe out without removing the bumper and muffler? If so, please share. I have everything loose but don't seem to have the room to slip it out. I'm hoping the Fabspeed pipe will fit in better because of the smaller size.
