Hello all, there are a couple of old threads regarding the F355 fire extinguisher, but they are years old and info is scattered all over.

Lets make a new thread with proper information regarding coupes / GTS / Spider and include links & pics of your fire extinguisher solution. Lets keep it Simple and to the point!

Currently i have an element fire extinguisher which i don't think would do much incase of a fire, and i want to get something serious that could save the engine / car if God forbid it had to be used.

It’s not the best thing to have, but it’s better than nothing.
Exist other system more expensive and certainly more efficient as a pipe equipped with a thermal probe that blows fire…

It’s true, it’s great but attaching the fire extinguisher to the seat adjustment bar is not the best solution. You have to be very careful because this steel bar is easily uncoupled, and it's a hassle to reinstall it...

so i have the Element one in my car, but after actually being in a 355 fire, i really wouldn't want to be as close as you'd need to get with that element extinguisher, its a great idea but not sure how well it would have worked in the situation i was in especially that it was also very windy that day .

Large Halon extinguisher mounted to a piece of plywood with neoprene stuck on the back. I keep it in the frunk, it doesn’t slide or roll around. Have one in all the fire goblins. Everyone should practice unlatching and arming their extinguishers, fingers get fumble prone when our babies are burning

To Rf355AU. In the picture of the H3R Performance SMO1BK Fire Extinguisher Seat Mount it appears to mount to the seat frame. If so, will it work on Spyders with their electric seats? Thanks.

Which one is this? The location seems perfect--easily accessible yet out of the way. Can you share some info please?

I worry about things like that as they can become projectiles in an accident. Maybe it's just the racer in me talking but I've seen some **** really go flying.

My 355 spider burst into flames when driving along a couple of years ago. I was lucky to get out. At no point did I think about using a fire extinguisher. I didn’t even have time to grab my stuff in the passenger footwell. When you open the door the fire rushes in. All you can think about is getting out/ away from the car as quickly as possible. People driving past were kindly offering to use their extinguishers but I told them to keep well away until the fire brigade arrived. The fire moves very very fast and all sorts of things start blowing, banging, exploding etc. the only use for one is, god forbid, you should you be trapped inside to help buy you some time…
