Hello! I recently purchased a 97 Spider and I’m fixing little issues with the car. The toolbox strap in the frunk, the long end, is not attached to the frunk anymore as shown in the attached photo. I tried googling photos but I couldn’t find any that showed how this attaches. It doesn’t look like the long end attaches to the same point as the buckle end as the rivets are still there. I also have the same gold plate I found floating around in the frunk. Can anyone share a photo of how this strap is suppose be attached? Thanks! It mounts underneath the top strap, you can see the holes on the carpet I believe. One strap goes over, one strap goes under the kit.
Here you go, it’s riveted on. The lower rivet is hard to get to bite as there is minimal space. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Thanks for the photo, I appreciate it! Did you have to take the frunk panel out to rivet it? And how long rivets did you use?
So I took the frunk liners screws out and it looks like the old broken rivets need to be drilled out, however, I don't know what's behind the firewall in case I drill too deep. Can anyone shed some light on what's behind there? Thanks!
