So if its the best one and fully sorted, why is it not worth that when others are selling for very close to that? I also have searched all his threads and no where did I see where he said that. Not that that matters as its his prerogative.

I understand that you're probably a little salty for missing on a great car at a great price, but it doesn't matter what the owner paid. What matters is what the car is worth now.

I think that is more of his opinion on what a top quality car is worth right now in this market. You as a buyer and the guy seller actually decide what the market is.

Exactly. Market seems heated. He stepped up and had a quality major done when it didn't even need it so he's stated his price and if someone wants the car and they make a deal then that's the market.

Switch Cars, Black Horse , etc do the same thing. Seems like he was pretty savvy.

The only ones selling for around this 70-85K are from Black Horse Motors and a very few select others, or in private hands. BHM is buying low, sorting them, and flipping them. That's what he does for a living and he's good at it. Some people feel if they want the best car around they have to go to BHM to get one, not true.
If you look hard enough, talk to people on here you can get one for less than 60k no problem.
Granted, prices and demand are on the rise...

The one I'm tracking is a 1995 Berlinetta Blue/Tan with 22000 miles. It's in a collection and I found it from talking to people on here. I will pay 45K, and it is fully sorted. Granted it wasn't easy to find but I kept asking and asking until someone said, O yeah I know someone who has one in a collection and he never drives it. Also, he is looking to sell a couple cars and that is one of them.

Just keep looking, you will find your deal my friend.

I dont see ones in the teens as complete as that one selling in the 50s to 60s. I guess weather a dealer pays low and goes over the car or a private individual does makes no difference to me. After seeing the BlackHorse car claiming no paintwork and then showing up with painted panels make me think maybe they do not always have top tier cars. I will bring a paint meter with me if I take the plunge but he guranteed no paintwork and he had it metered when he bought it. To each their own on how much they make. I cant hate 512 guys for buying in the sub 100s and now they are 200k plus cars!

There were a lot more GTB's for sale this summer but I had just started to look and didn't have my mind completely around what I needed. I was still considering a 997TT until I drove it and was like.. Ehhh...

Then started looking more seriously and the cars disappeared. Now like in every free market; supply and demand is dictating a price spike.

There are 40 Spyders for sale and you can get a clean low mile one for at or under $50k.

Was similar with the GTB when there was a better inventory. Now GTB owners feel like they struck the Lottery and for the moment they have.

In a few years we can start importing the Euro cars without EPA or DOT concerns. That's going to add a considerable number of cars to the US inventory. Looks like there are plenty available over there for sale at the moment. Prices on them look stable and low.

Beautiful Blu Chiaro car with Crema Interior. Fully sorted but no valve guides done at that time.
I was set to buy it 2 years ago but the owner was trying to figure out the timing of when he would sell it to open up space in his garage. I was afraid to wait too long in my search, so I bought my giallo '95 and have not looked back.

Congratulations! and stay in touch with the seller. He is a cool alfa guy - getting a 4c for his collection I think... :)

If anyone wants a beautiful silver F1 GTB, one just came up on cars.com with 12k miles for 77.8k. The seller says if you can find a cleaner car, he will pay you 10k or something like that.

    Looks amazing in silver.

The interior is horrible. I would say from the picture, the drivers side has had some paintwork. There are some different shades of silver going on there.

Totally agree. I used to not like silver, but it looks awesome on the 355.

Possible, but in my experience silver panels can look different in photos even if paintwork isn't present.

Do you think that interior is stock? Either way, I like it.

    Thanks!

I have personally never found one with that type of interior. I dont know, there are several panels that dont match. I would be suprised if that was all from the camera.
