People in front of me say my lights bounce while driving at night. The mounts are solid in the up position. The dealer says it could be the filament. Any comments? To get the light bulb out - do I have to take the whole light assembly out from below? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe one can adjust a 'stop' on the housing itself. The stop and locking nut should be visible in the center rear of the housing with the bonnet and headlight up.

You do not have to remove the entire assembly. Remove the headlight outer-covering (i.e., the painted "shell") by removing the screws which go around the housing. This will allow access to the lamp assemblies. The headlight bulbs are removed by rotating the bulb sockets, which pull right out. I would recommend that you replace (at least) the low beam bulbs with 9012 HIR bulbs -available on eBay -much brighter. Make sure you use 3M painters tape to mask around the headlight area before you remove the outer-shell to prevent scratching.

It looks more like a complete light assembly rather that replaceable bulbs in a lense body. I will look at it again tonight.

Look at the diagram from the Ricambi website. Remove screws (#27) from painted outer-covering (#21), which will then allow you to remove the light assembly/housing (#3). Then twist bulb terminals from housing (#3) to gain access to the high and low beams bulbs (#29 & #30). Replace. DO NOT touch the bulbs with bare skin. If you do, wipe with isopropyl alcohol. Again, use 3M Painter's Tape around the edges of the light opening to prevent scratches.

Gotta love a guy that posts pictures!!! Especially pictures that are helpful.

I had the whole bouncing effect happening as well. I tightened the stops by moving them up a smidge and the bouncing beams of light stopped. Funny thing.

However, you can as well get filament bounce as the bulbs get older and the filament gets weak. Or you buy those wonderful Chinese brand H7's from the gas station on the corner and then the bouncing filament is a natural occurrence for all 7 hours of use until they burn out.:) I have seen bulbs that haven't been "seated" properly as well and they obviously bounced. make sure they are affixed so all the tabs lay properly in the socket slots. Take your time. It's an easy job.

Philips, Bosch and Osram are bulbs that can be counted on.

I had to adjust my stops as well. Matermech helped me with this. He warned me to be careful because if you disconnect the wrong thing, the light will flip open and possible remove your fingers with it. You might PM him for any tips.

So how do you type with one index finger missing??? :)

He's absolutely right. I remember now the pain I endured. The things you least expect will always bite you somewhere. Thanks for the memory.

Part Number 8. It is sort of a stud (like me) with a rubber knobby thingy on the top. Fiddle with the assembly and you may find that it kinda lifts up and down when it is in the up position. It is not suppose to lift up and down even by a fraction of an inch so the stud / stop can be adjust up (or down) and then it takes up the slack and stop the whole assembly from bobbing up and down. It's easy. You'll figure it out once you play with it a bit. Simple mechanics at play here.
