    Hi All
1995 Euro Spec (LHD) F355 GTS 2.7 motronic.
Car has been stood for a couple of months, and has managed to flatten its battery.
Connecting up a jump pack, immobiliser light comes to life, constant flashing
However, it then refuses to go out when I press either button on the key fob, and, obviously, the car then refuses to start (cranks fine)
The fob doesnt operate the locks either. I have 2 fobs, both with brand new batteries - same lack of response to both.
Ive attached a picture of the fob and key setup (cant find one like this anywhere on the net!!)
Any suggestions?? Where is the bloody immobiliser, how to bypass etc
    Many thanks

95's in the US did not have immobilizers? Is this different for the UK?

    Im Guessing so!!
No mention in the handbook, and no alarm supplement, but this looks like an "official" keyfob (car was originally French, supplied by Ch Pozzi)

Well, no idea on UK spec cars, but my understanding was 1995 were sans the immobilizer (wish my 98 was too).

My guess is an aftermarket, dealer installed immobilser complete with fancy yellow sticker with horsey on it.

Did you put a new battery in the fob?...ah yes, I see now you did that. You sure they are in there right? :) I kid! (kinda)

I'm 99.9% sure that's aftermarket with a Ferrari sticker on it.

Ferrari did not fit immobilizers (3 fob system) at the factory until Motronic 5.2 showed up in the F355, 550 and 456 in CY 96 at earliest. I would contact Pozzi and see what they say.

That is an after market alarm. Not sure what kind but you will need to find it so you can identify hiw to fix or remove it.

    Thanks everyone!
At least knowing its not some ECU related system, I should be able to get a local specialist to come around and rip the bloody thing out!!

That's a good plan. Wish us 5.2 guys could do the same.

A 348 owner had a similar issue here... starter motor cranking, but no start.

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/543737-348-startup-problem.html

The alarm was wired into the blue wire off the ignition switch. He just cut the wires off the alarm and re-united the ends of the blue wire. Looking at the F355 wiring diagrams, there is similar blue wiring off the ignition switch, but there is no guarantee your aftermarket alarm is wired up the same way.

Perhaps best left to the experts. Anyway, please let us know how you go (Perhaps you can ask the expert how it was wired in?). There may be a simple fix for the existing alarm (like a replacing a flat backup battery).

    Cheers.

That is a back-up plan worth considering. I personally followed that whole thread closely as i seriously considered doing that.

Just wish there as a way to pull the whole immobilizer out. By pass the proper inputs on the ECU and be done with it.

Of course, you can always just wire the door switch so alarm never turns on....I guess.
