those are great numbers for street car, my Challenge with open exhaust and "Ferrari of Houston tune" did 320-330 RWHP. I also saw 4-5 other Challenge cars do dyno tests with NASA all range 310-330. what mods do you have again?
Cool stuff Jim...thanks for posting. Those are very fast runs for an F355. However, given your ETs it looks like you are still breaking in that beast. HAHA BTW, I love the sound of your exhaust setup.
Thanks everyone Barry, yes he has the F355 stuff figured out Also forgot to mention we built a car that runs low 7's at 220+ so no problems there, just have nothing myself for the 2.7 motronic. Rob, I put together some high flow metallic cats and secondary cat delete for it. Also has a Capristo 2/3 but is otherwise stock. Was your car and the other Challenge cars on a dynojet as well and did you have stock primary/secondary cats? (not sure if by open exhaust you mean no cats or just the Challenge rear section)
My '97 made 308 on a Mustang Dyno, the '95 we ran right before mine made 304. The '04 360 right after mine was 316. This "'95 is faster" will never end but it always cracks me up. Awesome time, I don't think I'll ever take mine to the drag strip but it's nice to see some real world numbers.
Sure, any two cars on any given day could be faster/dyno higher than one another depending on state of tune. Bradan ran their 95B in the 1/4 at 13.5 @ 106. (I think it was a high mileage engine). My 99GTS was quicker at 13.2 @ 109. So yes, I agree a 5.2 car can be faster/have more power than a 2.7 car depending on mileage and state of tune. I do believe that the 2.7 cars have a slight edge in power/acceleration over the 5.2 if comparing two cars that are dialed in and running 100%. Should be easy to prove me wrong, somebody with a good running 5.2 car just needs to go to the track and crush my time
But yours is also 'tuned' James. It's all good, I just find it funny that all (generalizing of course) '95 owners think their car is so superior to the later examples. I realize you didn't say that, it came from some other members in this particular discussion. Anyway if there is a repeatable/measurable difference it's surely minute relative to the pure diving experience of say a Berlinetta VS a Spider or manual VS F1 trans. ;-)
It's not tuned yet, unless you mean the exhaust changes. Somebody has to have a 5.2 car with high flow cats and Capristo (or similar) that lives near a track
Well, that would be a real challenge given the 95 is in pieces all over my house and shop I've got a small 1/8 mile track close by and a 1/4 mile about an 1.5 hours away - I look to get the 98 F1 on that in spring - would be fun
