My leather is generally in good shape, but I have a few trouble spots and this one is the worst. What do you think?

From what I can tell, your leather isn’t lost. A skilled leather expert should be able to restore it. If you’re in the DC area I would recommend you do these things:

    - Post on the regional section that your looking for a leather expert that is skilled in matching dye work.

    - Contact Competizione Sports Cars and ask them if they can refer you to someone.

    - Contact Radcliffe Sports Cars (near Baltimore) and ask the same.

Most 355's that get driven look like that. Depending on to what level you want this fixed, it can be a fairly easy DYI job. Several sellers out there with matching dye for the leather. A little light sanding and some matching dye and you will be at 98% fixed. If you want 100%, that's a professional job. If you drive your car, its just going to happen again so to me, 98% was good enough. I did it myself on my 355, 328 and 612. All have won platinum at local concorso events.
