Well, we don't know what A paid for it or what B paid for it; it could have been an inventory swap, or any number of things. Only known, assuming it is the same car, is that it is now at dealer B. (As you know, I'm older and grumpier than ever.)

I have to say that back in 012 I looked at a car that started at $86k. I watched the price drop. I had a deal at $58k. Did like the PPI. Dealer agreed to fix some issues and give it to me at $55k which was what he was going to whole sale it for. I said no. A month later the car showed up in AZ listed at $85k and sold shortly there after. No way to know what goes on behind the scenes.

Dealer B had a car that Dealer A had a customer ready to purchase. Happens quite frequently in collector market. :)

Well if that was true, dealer B wouldn't have the car listed for sale;)

Dealer swaps happen when cars are stale, sitting unsold for months, not 7 days. Come on John, let's hear it "Dave, you are right" I know it's killing you buddy.

When did 355s become hot again? :) Not going to happen. Be interesting to see what ask the new dealer puts on the car. But I can only win or break even. If it puts $120k on it, it still doesn't say what he paid. If he puts 95k on it we know he didn't pay 99,900. No way I'm throwing in my hand.

Besides, that car isn't as nice as you think. The under side is scrapped up.

For sure the AC panel needs fixed (bubbled) and IF the vents were refinished they weren't marked with the arrows.

Look at the steering wheel surround. Looks like a lot of dust in sticky stuff to me.

And the gauge cluster? Look at the discoloration. Now that's in need of Sticky Rx.

    It all screams $80k. :)

I agree with the sticky assessments, but when did a car become not nice because the undertray has scrapes. That’s absurd for a car this low to the ground. Simple elevation changes in the road will cause this when going 80 mph.

Right. 100%. The car is very clean aside from the need for our services :D

It just screams of an original car

If it doesn't matter, why do sellers bother posting pictured\s of the under side? It tell part of the story.

Because they are being transparent about the condition of the car.

Exactly. They are being transparent about the condition of the car, top bottom, inside and out,.... because it matters, or may matter, to a buyer.

And, aside from some minor needs, it's a very clean car and desirable to many. Not that you believe it , John but plenty of buyers at premium dollars for low milage time capsules.

I heard from someone's brother on the internet, that dealer A's sister heard from Hooptie? Hootie? Howie? ....what's that dude's name? The WIZARD! that there's a bunch of things wrong with 355s and they're all expensive and everyone should run away like they're on fire (which he also heard they sometimes are).

Well Joe, it appears you are correct - I called to find out the price and the car is sold. Why they bothered to list it is beyond me. The guy I spoke with said "The car was bought and sold".

I don't think so. As I already said, the car was only listed for a week - no upside for Dealer A to sell without profit.

$80k. Can live with that. Makes my 1996 GTS worth more. I have a few less miles, all the updates. Incredible exhaust. I think my $95k ask is fair. [emoji41]

That is a strong BaT Ferrari Sale.

Seems like BAT has been strong recently for V8 Ferraris. Maybe consider listing it there?

I was watching this one wishing it were a GTS. Carnut, that buyers premium on BaT goes to the website (not the seller). And the true dual intakes on a '95 scream that much louder that the other years ;)

Commission goes to BAT but added in still represents actual purchase price for the buyer.

Certainly, but adding that to the end of a private sale is how we get bubbles. I'm just lusting over carnut's GTS.... and that BaT auction has me overly optimistic.
