I would venture to say your Red one just because of "resale red" and finding a rosso corsa 355 w/ nero interior in the U.S is harder to find than a unicorn. The one currently on ebay is the first one ive seen publically advertised in the last 8 years. It also happens to be a 95 and manual, which is what I would prefer.

I know of a really nice red/tan 95 GTS available. Priced similarly to what is being observed in the asking price marketplace. Let's see how quickly the participants and readers of this thread jump on it. Methinks there's a lot of "talk" going on here.

It's the bottom feeders who can't play in the big boy game for the 7 figure and high six figure cars. So they're out scrambling to buy the "bargain" Ferraris to try to ride the wave of the bubble. Funny how these fickle people believe that by simply purchasing a car with a badge on it guarantees a 20-30 percent return in a matter of months. These leeches should be ashamed of themselves. They do nothing but hurt the enthusiast culture.

You're really on a roll with talking down values in every section possible.

What's your interest in the 355 market Brad?

Not talking down values, just pointing out the obvious.

Interesting. At Mecum there are a lot of Ferraris crossing the block. 308, 328, 456, 575, f40, Testarossas, and quite a few vintage cars. But not a single 355 (or 348) that I could find.

I noticed the same thing John. I also noticed that the 575 stick sold for $423k. About 3x that of a comparable F1.

This sure is an interesting market.

I think our owners are fairly passionate about their cars and once they are maintained and sorted, very hard to get rid of...

Many of the 355's you do see for sale are in need of a major so maybe those owners bit off more than they can chew with costs over the purchase.

And the 456 I looked at went for $36k and $43k, as I recall. The F40 sold at $1.15M. Most of the other vintage cars seem to be stalling and are no sales or "the bid goes on", not making reserve. Not a good sign.

Or they are good buys for those who want to do their own service and not pay the Ferrari tax for the service.

I read a thread where someone said make sure to get a Proper PPI on a salvage car.

    I mean really?

I know, here I go again, but currently there are 6 red GTBs on Ebay, 5 of them are 95s. Two are red on black. There are 7 spiders. Seems that what was once the rare and coveted GTB is now pretty common. And there is this 95 just down the street from me. 1995 Ferrari 355 Berlinetta at F40 Motorsports in ,

It's like it's fall and these things are dropping off trees like leaves. :)

Although there are a lot more on the market right now, the prices are at least $20k higher than they were late last year / early this year for essentially the same cars.

I believe we are seeing more cars on the market because values have become much stronger, relatively speaking of course. You didn't see too many countaches either until they jumped in value last year by as much as 200 percent. There are always 993 turbos on eBay. I get that they're the last of the air cooled turbos, but they are always good for at least 150k. Why can't the 355 enjoy similar success? They only made about 6,000 coupes and GTS cars, are some of the prettiest Ferraris ever made and possess that unmatched sound. Frankly, when I bought my 95 GTS 3 years ago, I couldn't believe they ever got that cheap in the first place despite the maintenance.

Yes, buy low sell high. I know I keep repeating this but when more there are more than the usual number of cars on the market it tends to signal a toppish market. If people believed prices were going higher they would be holding on. Just my opinion based on 30 years of investing. Been wrong before. I'll be wrong again. Matters little to me as I don't invest in or flip cars.

There are 16 F355's on ebay.

    13 308's

    11 328's

    7 348

    49 360

    56 430

    67 458

So, 6 cars makes something "pretty common". In comparison I should have been slaloming through a sea of 360's, 430's and 458's this morning :)

Compared to the historical number for 355 GTBs on ebay it's a bumper crop. The other cars are apples to oranges. But if you want to play that game, there is only 1 308 GTB on ebay, zero 328 GTBs, and zero 348 GTBs.

Earlier this year when someone asked about finding a 355 B the comment here was that he should wait as one comes on the market every couple of weeks. At the moment there a 6 on ebay, 1 at F40, let's not forget this blue one that's been around for some time now and is now at $89,800 (remember when it was at $104,000). And this one if you like black, also around for some time. 1999 Ferrari 355 Berlinetta | Nero on Beige | EM115583 | Exotic Motors Midwest | That's 9 355 GTBs and I haven't bothered to do much of a search. We are truly in the land of plenty. Oh, I almost forgot the yellow one at Ferrari of Newport Beach, 1998 Ferrari F355 For Sale $115,900 - 1264163. That makes 10. I'd say that's quite a few for a car previously considered almost as rare as a Sasquatch sighting. :) And the only car that I know of that sold recently was the one for $45k.
