1. Weird upholstery. Missing french stitching along the side bars. 2. Has a cross bar. 3. Lower mounting flange most likely not hidden underneath the factory carpet, hence reason there’s a custom carpet going over
Gotcha. So this is a rear challenge roll bar that's just been wrapped? Image Unavailable, Please Login 62975900 part number
Could be or custom. If he used a rear challenge roll bar, he would have had to remove the connecting flanges for a smoother look.
Well, take a closer look at photo #175 for example: (actually not 100% sure what car this is) Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's actually his porsche... https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-porsche-911-carrera-s-cabriolet-35/ He's selling two cars, got some pics mixed up. whoopdie do. sjd
For what it's worth, I count less than 430 cars for sale on the sites that I monitor. I'm sure there's another 50ish out there on obscure sites...but that's about the lowest I've ever seen. But this is somewhat the case for cars in general...
Prices are way up in Japan. Not really viable to buy from there to save anymore. Still some deals in Europe, but few and far inbetween...and almost nothing with rarer options/spec.
https://buy.motorious.com/vehicles/262068/1996-ferrari-f355 Looks like this 96 is going to hit BaT soon.
Missed that 430…. But this is pretty tough to beat: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Intoxicating. Alas, not a 355, but what a car! The 1200 mile 430 gated on BaT is going to break $450 and maybe $500k ?!?!? The crazy low mileage cars are going nuts. The 355 is just catching it’s stride. I think the money is strong for many moons to come. Not sure I can buy another . I keep an eye on here just to stay in the loop….but loop is tightening! Cheers fellas! I hope the year is good for you so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm thinking the new C8 Z06 will check a lot of boxes for me. Here's the way I see it: Z06 Pros: Good looks Custom Order Faster New Tech Warranty Cons: Depreciation Automatic F355 Pros: Outstanding looks Rarity Will not depreciate Manual Cons: Initial investment Not very fast by modern standards Requires more/specialized care As similar as these cars are I do understand they have very different appeal. But outside of a lightly used GT4, I don't see anything nearly as attractive for ~$130k.
Not sure people buy classic cars because they are "fast". If fast is is at the top of the list then its best to simply look elsewhere. When an R8 or Vette pulls up next top you you both know that's faster, but its still a Ferrari. Nothing more to prove. Your not longing for their car... they long for yours.
As a real life example, I was getting gas in my Lamborghini Diablo Roadster over the weekend. Guy in a brand new Corvette convertible drives up, gets out and starts talking about my car and proceeds to take pictures from a bunch of angles (can't blame him, it's beautiful from every angle).....of course I wasn't taking pictures of a Corvette or asking anything about it.
You are right of course. The F-car would definitely be filling a niche in my (very small) stable. But by comparison both cars are "modern" in that they are both fast enough to get in serious trouble on public roads. To balance my classic Mustang, I'd like a high winding V8 that is fun to drive. I'm not looking for attention or to stoke jealousy.
Anyone can get a vette. If you want more of a curated set of cars then the 355, that's easy. If you want fast or/and cheap to maintain or/and warranty its easy, the vette. Your pro/con list is fine, but that does nothing to help a decision, in the end it simply depends on what you want out of a car, pro/cons are irrelevant really. It smacks of being practical and rational, to that end the I'd say go with the vette. Can't argue with fast, new, warranty etc. The 355 has emotion which is not measurable, its irrational. Good luck with your decision!
ok comments about looks/attention seeking aside, I find it weird to cross shop the 2. The corvette is a thoroughly modern car with the build quality, tech, and reliability to match. The F355 will be so many compromises by comparison. Performance wise I imagine the z06 compares more to the 488 which is another car I don’t imagine gets cross shopped against the f355.
