I think the 348 wheel looks better, too. But I think those willing to spend the big bucks aren't so much concerned about what the wheel looks like as 1) it's OEM/correct, 2) it's rare, 3) and well, yeah, it does look better than the far more common airbag wheel. I'd prefer the OG non-airbag wheel too, especially as my car is a 2.7, but for what they're selling for I'll stick with my airbag wheel.
It’s nice to have choices when one isn’t sure which looks better . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That’s the slightly stumpier looking 328 steering wheel compared to the 288/308 steering wheel. I actually did not realize there was a difference until I received it. I was just looking for a 308 wheel in better condition than the ones I had. The 308 wheel was the first steering I put on the car. I like it. I think it looks and feels better than the after-market MOMO Monte Carlos that are similar. Good period match against the Connolly background. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's funny how may opinions there are on the wheel. But thats one thing that keeps the car scene interesting. Everyone has their own style. I never disliked the airbag wheel on my previous 355 but after having the non-airbag wheel I know I would not be happy with an airbag wheel now. I would also not want to put a wheel for a TR, 348 or anything else older on a 355. It just dates the car. I don't like the 360 wheels on 355s either. the early 456 might be a good alternate option though if you could find one.
I like that wheel looks nice on your 355. If it’s good enough for a 288, it’s good enough for a F355. I never really minded the OEM wheel enough to change it. I like to keep it OEM if possible. If it did I would put a 288 style or a 348 wheel on it.
Perhaps I’m in the minority, but I wouldn’t mind the Serie Fiorano wheel either. It was a fair attempt by Ferrari to make the standard airbag wheel feel and look a tad sportier. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Ryan is a weird dude, but I like his thinking. I saw something about the original Airbag embossing. It sure is pretty when original and no scrotum wrinkles present Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Of course aesthetics are objective. For the sake of not losing my sanity and ease of resolution, trust that I tried to convince myself there was an alternative to the early 2.7 wheel. I studied all alternatives. In the end, for -me-, (so understood my decisions are subjective).......no alternative could match the beauty of the early non airbag F355 wheel. Not only in the realm of the F355, but all cars and all steering wheels, there's not been a steering wheel that exists that I find more aesthetically pleasing than the early F355 wheel. I exhaustively pondered all other possibilities, and in the end, could not in any way convince myself there was a prettier wheel than the early 2.7. If you have one and disagree, feel free to reach out. Would be glad to free you of it and have an extra
I will say that for me, the F50 wheel is the best for the car. It looks so right in it, it feels great on your hands, and it’s the perfect size for the car. 340mm to be exact. The only way to get that size in something more cost effective is the Momo Spoon wheel which is also 340mm, and is essentially a slightly smaller Monte Carlo with red stitching. I agree that F50 wheel looks right at home. The 360 wheel is the simplest solution/tradeout to retain the airbag though. And still looks 100% better than OEM.
I can see some of you guys walking into a Ferrari dealer in 1995 and looking at a 355. Then getting it in and looking up at the salesman, "I love this car but there's no way I can buy it with the dam ugly steering wheel. What is Ferrari thinking?"
If the 288/308 wheel is a 350mm, I’d say the stumpier 328 wheel is a 340mm. It also doesn’t have “Momo” etched on it giving a more OE look. I’ve driven a 355 with the F50 steering wheel and the turning radius was a huge improvement from stock. I’d say within 80-90% where the 355 needs to be. Steering wheel also felt solid. Felt like $3 million bucks .
