The F430 is still a better car. I'm not talking about desirability. Looked at the 95 spider now on BAT. Service records from Miller. !
Better is subjective. Faster- yes Better looking- hell no Sound- hell no Electronic throttle bodies- no Overall bigger car- no, I'll go golfing in something else Cable shifter- no Direct injection- no thanks
If you knew my buddy...lol He's basically said "pick up the 355, bring it to your place, and go no reserve. I don't want to see it ever again"
Better is subjective as I would have a much more enjoyable experience with an F355 than a 430 (due to being better , to me, in the most important areas) How is that not better for me?
Better is definitely subjective. The F1 transmission is faster, but is it better? The F430 is faster, but is it better?
South East of Hartford. Have you seen this? https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/2023-ongoing-connecticut-gathering.671133/
Cool. I'm in Southbury. I have seen that. Just haven't committed the time to going to one lol I will....limited options these days as I thin my herd. I guess I could drive my Acty over there. It does have shields after all
It started with the 944, then the Alfa. What's a guy to do? I parallel parked, just not parallel to the lines.
We just said the 430 was a better car. To be fair, no one said it was not better for you. It is better for you. 100% better for you. I agree with you on why, likely we all do! It's better for some due to the experience (which is subjective) they get using your words btw. That's true for most of us too. We all get it. Now go enjoy your 355 knowing we all agree with you, its a better experience and we prefer it too. No one is taking that from you.
Its all good. I'll say many folks prefer the classic 60 charger and challengers with all that sweet body roll and heave gauge steel over the newer ones, they 100% find those better too and I' sure this debate happens weekly probably on Mopar forums.
He is going to a GT2 or 3. Possibly 997 Turbo. Up next will be the RS4 he just restored to an amazing degree.
Image Unavailable, Please Login I guess someone saw the $300k+ sale on BAT and figured this was a steal. None of the GTS over $200k that I've been watch for months have sold.
You car is doing well. $75k already. Honestly, I though it would go for about $80k. Now I'm thinking closer to $100k.
Yes I prefer my 69 Charger over the Hellcat Charger I had as well Mine is decent with some updated components and road race tires. Hellcat chassis is of course newer but still ancient for a new car.
Yep ok so that explains it, all of it. So THAT sounds awesome btw. Wooo doggy, that thang gut a Hemi in it? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ohh it explains that you have great taste in cars and a penchant for nostalgia just for clarification. Sent from my SM-G990U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Back in '69 I bought a Z28 Camaro. One of 248 with the JL8 4 wheel dick brake option. Loved the car. Looked just like this one. Image Unavailable, Please Login When I go to car shows an see these cars and other of that era all I think is, what a piece of **** those cars were. Love the memories, but not so much the cars anymore. Funny thing though. Just today I was outside doing yard work and some guy I never saw before drives past in a 69 SS 396 Camaro. I live on a dead end and he didn't come back. So I wonder who he is, where he lives, or who he is visiting (a couple of other car guy in the neighborhood). A while later I'm out with the wife and we see another 60's Camaro. I mention the 396 that drove up the street and the next thing I know the words, "I got to get me one of them" comes out of my mouth. Go figure. I can se myself doing burn outs up the street. Mothers running out, screaming, to grab their kids and pull them to safety. Police knocking on my door and leading me away in hand cuffs. Memories.....
And that’s exactly what it is. To some, these older cars are either time machines or a form of missed opportunity in one’s youth. I was either 18 or 19 when I first saw the 355 in the flesh. Latrell Sprewell (former NBA player) had a yellow GTS in the lobby of his shop called Sprewell Racing. I don’t recall if it was F1 or manual, but the top was off and it looked damn good. I knew they were about $130-140k at the time, while most sports cars were $60-80k. This is circa 1998-1999. I vividly recall sitting in the lobby (I was waiting for a price quote for some wheels) staring at the 355 and thinking to myself, “damn, I’ll never afford one of these.”
Another part of my youth was drag racing. (Who's wasn't in the 60's.) Worked on a 62 Corvette owned by one of my best high school friends that we (he) used to race at a local strip. I can't count the number of small block Chevys we tore down in his garage. Also worked briefly for Ken Montgomery, Super Stock Hall of Fame, back in '65. Was there the day the Triple Nickle roll off the truck. Ken and his brother also had several hot rod which inspired me to build my 31 Model A roadster. Never finished it as college got in the way. But as my mother used to say to my father when he complained about all the used auto parts scatted around the back yard, "It keeps him out of trouble" or so she thought. But college was good. There was a shop in town that dealt with foreign cars. We knew the owner. There, one day, among the MGs, Austin Healeys and TVRs was a 246 Dino and the die was cast. Image Unavailable, Please Login
