Ahhh! Makes sense. So the 997 Turbo is superior to the 355… <ducks and runs for cover!>. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I see the 355 has a Fabspeed Supersport muffler. Not exactly a popular choice. I can see why he's going to a Porsche Turbo .
I wouldn't pass up on the opportunity to post up a driving vid on BAT. The sound of sex with a supermodel will definitely motivate bidders.
LOL, thanks. I completely understand how some would prefer newer cars. My wife doesn't get the Charger at all. Says it smells and gives her whiplash
Do you recall how fast those cars were back then? (The Ken Montgomery car). I like drag racing once in a while. This still a work in progress but I got some good data to work from. Apologies not an F355 but still has buttresses
Stock I think was mid 13 quarter mile if I recall.which is fast for a car that weight and stupid fast for that period. Sent from my SM-G990U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
But the Triple Nickle was not a "stock" Plymouth. It was one of the A990 cars build specifically for Super Stock drag racing. The whole body was acid dipped to reduce the thickness of the sheet metal to reduce weight (about 50% thickness of stock). The wheel base was shortened by 1" (seems minor, but not when you consider weight transfer. The engines and transmissions were specifically for drag racing. Doing some research, by 1973 Ken was turning in the low 10s. "I took our Plymouth to test in Florida before the Gatornationals, and it spun very badly in first gear, but really hooked hard in second. I figured the traction at Gainesville would be a good bit better, and it was. The record for these cars was around 10.70, and I went 10.35 the first pass at Gainesville. The second pass was even quicker, and qualified us number one. I went on to win the Gators, setting the record at 10.34 and defeating Charlie Taylor in the final.”
And now a day later, it’s at $165k with another 5 days to go. Amazing to see the 355 values skyrocketing. They were $75k cars all day long for 10-15 years straight until recently.
This one is exceptionally nice. It’s the first low mileage US spec Berlinetta that has been offered with minimal paint work in years. It needs tires & that’s about it from what I see. Eferrari34 Tim
I know the owner (NOT Mark S) and that spot they shoot at is my buddies 400 acre farm. It might be one of the coolest properties in CT. I think he has 4 total gun ranges I shot my client's Lamborghini there at sunset...it is a magical place No filter Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1996-ferrari-f355-berlinetta-6/ Not a Euro car but a US market car. $191k with fees. Reasonable result. I was guessing around 200.
I don't think I'm going to keep my 355 I got off BaT earlier this year. Going to list it here first, but thinking may end up on BaT. Do cars that are resold on BaT tend to sell for less when they come thru another time just months later?
