After the European winter storage of 6 month I took the car out today and it did not sound as it should. I think it does not run properly on all cylinders. What has happend? Measured the emission values and they are sky high and it runs far too fat. Anyone experienced this? Ideas, anyone?

There is not very much information here. You are running on less than 8 cylinders so the emission will be high from unburnt fuel.

I would inspect your plugs and wires first. The spark plug wires should be considered a consumable item with the hot environment they have to survive in the valve covers...

Yes, I will start with exchanging the spark plugs and then see if it runs ok after that. Next step will be the cables. I am a bit afraid that there is an open or stucked exhaust valve in one of the cylinders. Not easy to fix and very expensive if that´s the case. Third step will be a compression test if step one and two doesn't cure my car.

An ignition problem is the most likely and easiest possibility. Start with the easy stuff.

Code may help you. I had an intermittent miss and the pending code I kept getting was related to the injector circuit #3. CEL didn't show (yet). Played with the plug on the injector and the miss went away. Final fix was to replace the connector.

If your car is running that rough, a code should be starting to show up. Good luck.

How old are your "centraline" ? If the catalyst control stations are dead, they don't send any signal to the ECU and your mix is too rich. It happened to me and it killed the spark plugs in no time..

Cat ecu have no effect on fuel trim, it is strictly a cat temp warning system.

Checked the spark plugs today. One of them were completely loose by some reason and it was all wet from unburnt fuel, so it seems to be the problem. Anyhow it confirms the theory so far. I will take the opportunity to exchange all 8 now as some of the also are a bit rusty. Looked very used.

The Cat ECU are receiving the signals from both Lambda sensors, which indicate the level of O2 before and after each Cat.

The signal is used by the ECU to bring corrections to the amount of fuel injected.

Sounds.like old gas and so maybe a zticky injector. You need to old school it sometimes. Depending on how fulltank is if already low I ghink you could get away with filing with premium. If full I would buy a liquid transfer hose and vet as much out as possible, then rdf II ll with good gas and drive it clean.

    This is a false statement.

The Cat Ecu (s) only function is to detect exhaust gas temperatures via the thermocouples. They are not connected to the O2 sensors.

You may be confusing the lingo used here in your understanding of what I was saying.

By CAT Ecu I am referring to the three sending units I a 5.2 or two in a 2.7. They are sometimes referred to as Slow Down ECU (SDECU) as well.
