F355 Owner Finally

Hello everyone, my name is John and I live in the Toronto area. I have been lurking on this site for over a year now and can't tell you how much I love this site. I have learned so much from reading all the posts on this forum. After many months of looking for my first Ferrari. I finally purchased a 1997 F355 Red on tan Spyder with a 6 speed manual transmission. This one finally passed the PPI as I had a hard time finding one that was in good shape. As a kid I have always dreamed of having my own Ferrari and finally it has become a reality. I have always loved the Testarossa and F355 and was debating for a long time between both cars. I have had the pleasure of meeting alot of good people from the local Ferrari club in the Toronto area. I look forward to many years of good times with this car. I love the fact that there are so many passionate people that enjoy all the great things about owning a Ferrari and the driving experience that comes with it.

I would love to get some feedback from everyone here. My car is at a Ferrari mechanic shop getting the major engine service completed as we speak. My manifolds were still good but I decided to change them so that I had one less thing to worry about. It made sense to do it now that I have the engine out. I have bought Fabspeed headers and will be getting them coated as well. I also ordered a capristo exhaust which I can't wait to hear. I am changing the water pump with the major and will also be adding the battery tether so that I can plug it in during the winter.
Is there anything I am missing that I should do while the engine is out? The clutch is good and no leaks anywhere. I think I have everything covered but thought I would get some feedback.

 

Thanks for the warm welcome and kind words from everyone. My car is coming along and I am hoping that she will be ready for pickup next Friday when I am back in town. I have a few business trips scheduled over the next few weeks. I am hoping I will be able to get a couple of good rides out of her before we start getting nasty weather. I can't wait to hear her with the new exhaust. My mechanic is doing a great job with her so she is in good hands.

It's kind of sad as I wasted so much time looking for a 1999 in great shape that I almost did not go and look at my car because it was 1997. I gave up looking for a mint 1999 red spider with a 6 speed so I am glad I finally made the purchase. I enjoyed the hunt but now that she is finally mine. I will truly enjoy it!

 

I finally picked up my F355 from the mechanic last week. They did an amazing job with the car. I have been so busy traveling for business that I have not even driven the car other than to bring it home. I am hoping for some nice weather in the upcoming weeks to take her for a ride. The Capristo exhaust sounds amazing when the bypass valve opens. I will make another post on the bypass valve options. Here are some pics of the fabspeed headers in my engine.
