Hi guys my car was missing both Axle CV Boot heat shields and gold brackets that hold them in place. I just acquired them brand new from Tom Vails Ferrari Parts but I have been looking for a photo for reference on how they install exactly, can anyone here post a photo in this thread for me to see. I also want to see what style washer and nut is used to secure the silver fiberglass shields to the gold brackets.

Can anyone comment on why these may be missing on my car, do they interfere with Race Cats and aftermarket headers by chance? I am just trying to make things as original as possible on my car i kinda obsess over details.

    thanks

Here are some photos of mine. The shields only go on one way to clear everything. There is some adjustment to be had with the slightly oversized holes in the shields to get the correct positioning. I also had the shields touching the y pipe so I bent the brackets lower to get clearance on the 2.7 the shields are very close to the y pipe and burn through. Get them as low as possible without rubbing the cv joint.

The shields are secured with a flat washer, a sprint washer and a nut.

Elliott was 130 pounds when wet, when he purchased his 355’s now he looks like Popeye!!!
I on the other hand have a dirty car but look like fat billy bob(sorry Karl) too many in and out burgers. Actually I am even bigger by a lot.
He drives it lots too so the cleaning is his other full time job.

I love it just because I get to se how clean they were when new, likely even cleaner. Very very impressive.

need more pics though, never get tired of seeing them

It’s basically like sand blasting but the media is blasted wet with water to act as a lubricant for the substrate so the finish is much more soft and refined works wonders.

Google is your friend. Looking at YouTube videos, it's simply glass beads in a high pressure cold water spray.

"Budget" units are available at U$799.99 (compressor and media not included)

    http://vaporhoningtechnologies.com/micro-vapor-hone/

Depending on the media, it won't damage rubber or plastic
