The other day I was at a 4 way stop sign. I came to a complete stop, than started to move only to have a Honda Accord blast his horn at me. It seems that at 6' tall the rear view mirrior in my 355 is in perfect place give the right side a complete black out. I looked at the mirrior and it appears there is about 2-3inchs where the mirrior mounts that it can be raised. I assume it's just mirrior glue like most cars BUT, the dealer told me be CAREFUL the F windshield is 3K. Anyone else have this problem and raised the mirrior a bit? ANy advice?

If you decide to remove, it be very careful! An ex-FerrariLister had a rearview mirror fall off of his Lamborghini Diablo. He went to a parts store and got a kit to glue it back on. He installed it, and then immediately decided it wasn't quite right. When he went to try and scoot the mirror over a bit, the glue had already adhered and he ended up breaking a 2" diameter hole out of the windshield. I think that was a $4000 error. At any rate, if you do it, I think it's worth paying a professional auto glass company to do it.

It is right in my way also around hard right hand corners. If you want to remove it temporarily just rotate it in the same axis of the windshield. Hill manufacturing in the UK is developing a steering column extension that may allow you to tilt your seat back further..decreasing the amount of room the mirror occupies in your field of vision.
