Hi All, my 1997 manual F355 5.2 these day have the problem when I start the car and accelerate to 3,000 rmp the techometer cannot climbing and back to zero like switch off the engine, when I slow down seem below 3,000 rmp the techometer will work again and back to actual rmp, if accelerate and meet 3,000 rmp the problem will appear again just want to know that any guy got this matter before?

I would guess that it is the Speed sensor attached to the transmission. If replacing that does not work, then the speedometer needs to be looked at next.

Speedometer? I think the problem is in the tachometer.

Similar sensor to the speed sensor but it is on the engine. I would check to see if it's dirty first and if not then potentially replace it.

Sorry, I was thinking about my own problem which was the speed sensor in the transmission. Of course, you are having problem with the RPM sensor which is on the engine side.

Nice job - a $0.00 repair! (And score one for Monteman who nailed the fix in his post #4.)
