Hi, my father has a 355 gts, its been stood for 2 years, i will be riding it now and i think that is better to do a full service on the engine... the cambelts as usual is the dificult task, as i have to remove the engine... is there a step by step how to remove the engine and install the cambelts available? if possible any special tools i will need?

I have the 355 workshop manual but it does not come there...

    Thank you

    Welcome!

Search is your friend, lots of info here.

Probably not the best to get your feet wet by doing your own major service. Just my 2 cents. If you decide to tackle it, be VERY patient.

Hi, thanks for the replys =D

The only worry that i have is the air conditioning fluid..whats the special equipment that i need?

Cf355 i have seen your topic, its very good, i have to get familiar with all the conections, i am used to servicing and fixing bikes, but this engine has a lot more conections ehehe, its all good. Btw, i didint know that were so many people servicing the 355s at home, and as far as i can see the maitainence is not that expensive...

    Thank you

With the a/c you will need to take the car to your local garage to have them recover the freon.
The equipment to recover/evacuate/recharge the a/c is just too expensive to bother doing it yourself.
You can make the a/c fittings accessible however by removing the carpet in the front bonnet firewall area (this is where the a/c charge connections are) so that the local a/c technician can recover the freon.
The rest of the service is pretty straight forward.

    Tks Lerosa =D

That bleeder is the one in the gearbox, shouldnt be one in the pedal as the brakes? one on the pump and one in the gearbox actuator?

about the power steering, it needs to be bleeded?

Just refill the power steering with dextron fluid and start the car.....the system is self bleeding.

To bleed the clutch, there is only one bleeder at the pumpkin as depicted in the post by leorosa.
See my original post here.....covers bleeding the clutch process including some tips that make the job a piece of cake.

Yes i saw your process but i dont understand how its only one bleeder... in the brakes there is the master cilinder and the calipers , and you put the fluid on the reservoir on the master cilynder... and bleed. On the clutch if there is only one bleeder how the fluid will go to the master cilinder? you use brake fluid right?

There is single shared reservoir for the brakes and clutch. Normal master cylinder for the brakes, but on the clutch there is a combined assembly thrust bearing/slave cylinder. Bleed the brakes at the caliper, bleed the clutch on the pumpkin.

No offense Nuno, but you sound like you are way over your head. By all means good luck, but you might want to look at taking it somewhere. Do you have the serial number so the F355 registry can get updated?

No worries =) , as i said i m used to bikes... the systems are a lot more simple, since there is no power steering, AC, and the brake and clutch reservoirs are separate ehehe

Nobody borns with all the knowledge, you learn by doing or by asking, i learn a lot by doing, but since there is some people here that can take my doubts , its work that i save, and time... so when i do the service there are no doubts and the job is a lot easier, and faster...

I like mechanics a lot, the point of doing the servicing myself is to get to know the car better, and have fun doing it... the fun is doubled... fixing it , and driving it..

I dont have the serial number here but i can check it later...
