Hi there. I've had a few problems with a 98' F1 that I bought and since then converted to manual.

    1. The slow down light has been flashing for a couple of months now but just came on two times, i then switched off and on again and it was fine. How can I erase slow down from my ECU. I've herad there's a company in germany where you send your ECU and they erase slow down. I run test pipes on my car, so I don't see the point of it.

    2. My handbrake was in need of adjustment, so i flollowed the procedure in the manual and adjusted it on the underside of the car but it didn't helped very much. Are the handbrake bands in the rear in need of replacement? are there other adjustments that can be made?

    3. My A/C is finally working again after my electromecanic fixed the circuit. But since the car was in storage for about 2-3 years, I think the refrigerant needs recharging since the blower and compressor are working. It just blows air into the cabin and that's it.

    4. My ignition swith seemed to get a bit stuck every once in a while. last time I forced the key too much and it twisted... badly... then broke. Where can I get a replacement and how much are they going for? Is there any way to lubricate the switch??

1.Cannot help you here as there are others on the board far more knowledgeable then I when it comes to that type of error.
2.Jack the car up on the rear with both wheels of the car.
On the face of the disc you will notice 2 holes that are unthreaded.
Rotate either hole to the vertical position.
If you shine a light at the top hole you will be able to see a brass cogged wheel.
Insert a flat screw driver and engage any of the teeth on the brass wheel.
If you rotate the wheel downwards the brake shoes will expand and the disc will eventually bind. Give it a small click back to loosen the disc and it is done.
Now on to the other side.

    3.It needs to be gassed.
Remove the boot cover as the recharging valves are located in the front of the car and take it to your aircon people.

4.Q10 does the job. Spray a liberal amount in the key slot.
As to you being able to remove the broken key I suspect that the lock needs to be removed from the steering column and taken to a locksmith for his attention.
