F355 Spider Glove Box Lock?

    I was going over the checklist for functionality for the Coppa Bella Machina judging and came across an item - "Glove Box - Latch and lock functions." I assume they mean the little glove box back between the seats, in our case.

    The latching of the glove box back works fine, but the "locking" part," I'm a bit confused.
    Not only does the normal ignition key not want to go into the lock slot, but the Owner's Manual said not one word about the Glove Box, in any way shape or form.

    As far as keys, the manual says the car is furnished with two identical keys which lock & unlock the doors and fit the ignition. That's it. No other keys are discussed.

    Am I being overtly "paranoid," or am I missing something?

    I was wondering what that extra key was for :oops: My Spider glovebox is so hard to latch, I never use it.

    I’ve found that pushing down on the lid will not allow the lid to latch. The lock cylinder button needs to be pushed in while closing the lid then released. At least that’s what I have found on the 355’s I’ve worked with. o_O

    Any chance anyone has an extra barrel lock & keys? Mine is a bit wonky and would love to replace it. Part appears to be 64983600. Thanks!

    I have a new barrel lock and keys but it is installed on a NOS glove box and I will only sell the glove box and lock as a set.
