Hi, folks. During my recent major, I noticed that my intake duct piping was disintegrating. The previous owner had wrapped duct tape around the piping I ordered new pipes, but they didn't arrive on time. Rather optimistically, I assumed that I could replace the pipes at any time. Very optimistic... even with the engine out, I couldn't see a way of replacing the pipes. I believe I would have to go through the wheel arches, pull out the radiators, but I'm not sure if I would have to remove the strake assembly in the body work. Has anyone replaced these with the engine IN? Here's a good thread on intakes showing the strake assembly. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/143058633/ Thanks, Cheers Ian.
You would have to remove the strake assembly to mount the ducting to the air vent. That is very easy to do once the hard job of removing the radiators is complete. It’s only held in with 2 screws and a threaded bush. Would suck to do it though. Also the other side you’d need to degas the ac again too.
Ugh... thanks, Elliot. I'll leave it 'til another day.... hopefully sooner than my next major Cheers Ian.
