Sorry... newbie question .... prospective buyer...

Would a '98 Ferrari 355S (airbag-equipped) manual shift car have a steering column with tilt and reach adjustment. Some websites say both, some say just tilt.

    Thanks

    Thanks!

At six foot three (190cm), I might have to assume a bowlegged position... I had a wheel boss inserted on my previous car (Lotus). However, I see Hill Engineering make them for F355's. I'll check with them to see if they are suitable for airbag-equipped cars :)

    Thanks again.

    Cheers

I just fit at 6-2 and my Corvette seems cavernous by comparison. I have a spider and usually look over the windshield to to view traffic lights and under the mirror when cornering.

Ian, it's another case of false advertising. Ferrari said it did both, but it only tilts. (And it helps to have small feet.)

    Noted with thanks.

I haven't had a response from Hills Engineering regarding the spacer yet. I'm just wondering if airbag cars can be modified for extra column length (or would safety regulations insist on prohibitive additional testing?).

The F355 spider I sat in recently had plenty of headroom, but I can't imagine driving the car for too long with arms at full extension and legs splayed :) (but they do say no pain, no gain )))

    Cheers
    Ian.

The straight arm position is "The Italian Way".

You can easily have a spacer made as the wheel bolts to the hub using 4 bolts. I plan to do that with my car as there is no comfortable position in the car when driving fast. My knees end up hitting things like the wipers and window switches during autox when I have the seat close enough for my arms.
