I am replacing the steering rack in my 355 and decided to install new bellows on the replacement steering rack before it is installed. Well I realized that the Ferrari bellows are $150 each!! That's just ridiculous. So I took my old bellow up to my local auto parts store and they let me go through all the steering rack bellows to find a match. Well after looking at tons of rubber boots I finally found one that works perfect. It is for a Subaru but the dimensions are the exact same as the OEM boot, it even has the same number of ribs. The only differences are that the tie rod opening is a bit smaller on the subaru boot and there is a rubber gaitor on the rack end of the boot. The fitment is perfect and they only cost $20 each!!

In the first pic, the Ferrari bellows are the 2 on the right. They are the same part just one is more stretched than the other. The bellow on the left is the Subaru one.

In the second pic, you can see the difference between the tie rod openings. No issue here, it slips right on.

The third picture shows the additional rubber gaitor on the rack end of the boot. The opening for the rack is the same and fits perfect, there is just this extra .25" flap that sticks up. This will not interfere with anything at all so I just left it, but you can trim this off with scissors if you want it to be flush.

Conclusion: Save yourself $250 and buy these Subaru boots if you need to replace them on your steering rack. :)

    BRAND: Beck Arnley
    PART#: 1032696
    COST: ~$20/ea.

Great find, I was going to take the same tactic when I got around to replacing mine (take an old one to the parts store and start going through boxes). Thanks for saving me the effort!
