I would like to ask anyone whose got some pictures of an aftermarket steering wheel in their 355/348 to post some examples on here. I am trying to find a new steering wheel for my f355 and I would like to see some examples (carbon, alcantara, leather, etc....). I know what the challenge and oem options are out there from ferrari, but I wanted to see what others have done before I make my choice. I have kinda narrowed it down to a momo but I know theres more out there.
    thanks,
    jake

That home made steering wheel is what really sparked this idea with me to upgrade my old 95' wheel. Those other pictures are 360 steering wheels aren't they? Thanks for the ideas, hopefully some more people will chime in and post some pics.

The steering wheels in the pictures are CS wheels. The CS wheel is slightly "flatter" at the top and they have the little insert in the middle, which was colour coded as an option. The metal piece surrounding the steering wheel is black on the 360 wheel, while it's silver on the CS.

Standard 360 wheel is great and much less money, IF you can find one. When I tried, they were not available anywhere. It hurt bad to write the check, but I will tell you, the feel of the CS wheel completely changes the drive. It's a really, really nice piece.

My 355 wheel was splitting, so I had to do something. Would definitely do it again.

I agree that the 360 wheel is far superior to the 355's but I still would like to see what others have done with non airbag wheels (I dont want to cut that check!). My next question is what kind of hub adapter is required for the 355. I haven't seen any how to guides on steering wheel removal and placement on fchat. Anybody have any links to previous threads with removal and mounting steps?

The 94 & challange cars had the Momo steering wheel, hub and wheel cost about $450.

still looking for steering wheel ideas. what do you guys think about the M A carbon 360 steering wheels in place of the 360 challenge steering wheel on an f355. Its actually cheaper and with all the carbon fiber upgrades I've made I think it would be fitting for my 355. Just dont know about the brackets. I wander if someone from M A carbon is on here that knows if their wheel would match up on a 355?
ALSO... are their any extra couplers or adjustments that need to be made on upgrading a 355 wheel to a 360 wheel?

thats the raid steering wheel I was looking at , very costly but it does have the airbag. Raid steering wheels are typical replacement wheels for esprits dont see them often on 355's. I like it but I think I have found a momo that I like and I just need some help with the removal of the old wheel. Raid wheels do have a great feel though.

not for sure about the raid wheels, I think they do have an air bag on them from the manufacturer. I dont know I may be wrong about that. I do know they are expensive!

Resurrection of this dusty thread to avoid making a new one!

I finally got around to installing my aftermarket F355 wheel.

I used the Ricambi hub for OEM airbag wheels. It's a beautifully machined piece, but is not made to fit quick release adapters; just steering wheels. It had a hubcentric style lip to make sure the wheel was centered. My friend machined it down and bored out the center about 2mm to fit my NRG slim quick release. (The second picture shows how the quick release doesn't fit inside the adapter, but now it fits flush)

I went with a Momo Montecarlo 350mm black-leather-black-stitched wheel (no alcantara suede for me). In terms of how far it sits from the gauges, it sits almost exactly where the OEM wheel did, which is great.

Anyway, see the pics: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
