Sounds like your A/C recirculation flap. It's trying to close but the hinge is broken. Same thing happened to me. The sound was driving me crazy. A common problem and an easy fix. Plenty of threads here on how to replace. Ricambi has a replacement part that is needed.

Dear Labman, thank you so much for your information. You're correct the strange sound come from the a/c recirculating flap actuator, now I have unplug the actuator to stop the annoying sound to order the replacement pin.

Glad you found it! Definitely an easy and relatively inexpensive fix.

I had the totally wrong idea here. I thought he was describing the sound of a dinging sound like that made from the seat belt alarm or something like that. I am glad that you will be back up and running correctly soon.

These actuators must have a common half life. Mine when out this week as well. Annoying as hell, unplugged it. New part = $141.

Anytime you can get away with only spending $141 to fix your 355 it's a good day. ;)
