Hi everyone, Bled my top today to get ready for summer! I was wanting to replace the elastic straps that pulls the bar back. Where can I buy these? Or, does anyone know the dimensions of this strap? What the original length was? I will have a bunch made up and available for others if I know the dimensions. I don't want it to be too tight. Thanks for any information.
I had to experiment a bit when I made mine - didn't take any measurements but I am still looking for something better than the straps...
OK...had some made up. I have a couple of extra sets of the elastic straps if anyone needs to replace theirs. It is a 3 minute task and beats having to remember to flip the bar back every time you put the top down.
Dude I had this problem this past weekend. The top would rest on the shoulder seat because the elastic band is week in strength and no longer retracts one of the rod's far back enough. No biggie I just have to manually move it. I still need to replace the band.

I don't have photos, as it is a very simple repair. Put you top part way down just to the point where it beeps is fine. The front of the elastic just slips off the bar, then the back slides out of a slot. Replace them by sliding the new piece into the slot at the rear, taking it around the bracket so it goes over the bar, then attach it to the front bar. This is literally a 3 minute job. I had some sets made up from 1 non-roll elastic from a fabric shop. You need about 3 feet to make set of replacements modeled after the old set.

OK... I have received enough requests to have more elastic straps made. They cost me about $10 a pair. If anyone else wants a pair let me know and I will have them made next week. Mitch
I shortened the band by over lapping it by an inch and secured it. More tension retracts the bar to the right position for a perfect retract.
I just got the top elastic straps back from the woman that sews them. If anyone needs a set please let me know.... Mitch
