F355 window swithces

they just stopped working on both the passenger and the driver's side. checked both fuses and they were fine. any idea as what could be?

 

Open both doors. Examine the wiring loom near the hinges by unscrewing the circular cap on each side.

 

348<>355. Here is the 355 connector schematic.


06030 = door edge light
03098 = switch
01202 = window motor


BUT... if it stopped working on both sides, that's a bit odd. I'd probably start with the drivers door.

This is a 355 not a 348 and doesn't have the same plug connection on the door and 355s don't have that "too short wire loom" problem. I would check the window regulator under the dash. Regards, Vern

 

Is your 355 a spider? If so, there are the microswitches for the top that also come into play. One of mine is kind of whacky in that when the top is down the windows do not work, but when it is up they do. I just have not had the time to check it out and it has never been a big priority to have it fixed.

yes it is a spider i will try it now see if it works

 

i just closed my top and the windows worked fine. thanks but is it a big fix?

 

If it's anything like the 348 Spider, the top's microswitch is above the top windshield trim upholstry near the far left side of your car (just unscrew the phillips screws that hold on the visors and the top latches, then the leather top trim piece that goes across the width of the car drops down to reveal the microswitch).

For a test you can tape that microswitch closed.
