I got a F355 whose windows are going up very slow. Passenger side gets stuck going up about ~3/4 of the way up and won't go any further.

Furthermore the window seal at the top of the door seems to be quite worn and wavy; doesn't seem to help the alignment much.

Are these common problems and is there maybe more than one issue that I may be fighting here (such as an electrical plus a trim problem)?

Any tips on how to tackle? I was going to start taking the door panels apart and have a look but I thought maybe I should check here first?

    Thank you.

There's an older thread with an inexpensive solution for slow windows. You'll have to do a search. Yes, it's a common problem.

I thought this was mostly a 348 issue; did it hold true to F355s as well?

Very interesting -- does anybody have a link to a DYI for the door disassembly?

I found a link for the 348 door, is the F355 the same or very close?

    Thank you.

Check the rubber gaskets inside the black triangle area at the front of the door. These take a lot of rubbing and can force the window to slow down as it travels up if they get unglued.

you could replace the windows with lexan; lighter :)

That's a great idea although I think my car has no internal AC or vent system so the windows would need to go up/down as they are the only means of ventilating inside the cabin...

My car does have a lexan windshield though.

I was under the impression you could replace the windows with lexan and still be able to use them. As far as your windshield; what brand did you go with approx. price? PM me if you like.

I bought the car with the plastic windshield so I have no idea of pricing yet; I'll see if I can find any info on the brand/etc.

So I fixed most of what was going on with the windows -- turns out that as shown in Post #16 above, most of the rubber trim on the driver's side was actually mis-aligned which caused the window to encounter resistance when going up and down.

I took the triangle behind the mirror off and re-shaped/re-arranged the rubber seals/gasket/trim and now the windows go up and down properly. They are still a little slow but that will be the next project ;-)

FWIW, My windows were (are) painfully slow.

I took the whole passenger side assy out of the car and cleaned things up.

The worm gear that runs in the plastic tube was full of hardened grease.

    The tracking was off.

I sprayed some cleaner and then light weight oil into the motor as best I could & bench ran it.

The plastic / rubber pieces were mis-aligned as noted above.

I put it back together and the passenger side is a dream.... works as it is supposed to.

    Drivers side is next.

The relay option may be a solution, but I can not help but wonder if it is simply a cover-up for a tight and binding mechanism / motor. I always ask myself if I am fixing a symptom or the problem.
