a few questions raised when i was doing the actuator seal replacement myself

    1. shop manual is a little confusing to me. Is the centering only for a longitudinal alignment?
(you only need to push the "finger" to the tool on a vertical direction, no horizontal adjustment needed)

    2. manual said: position the tool on the actuator, and insert the filler B between the lever's terminal ball joint and the resting surface on the tool, push the lever end against the tool
what ball joint? I don't see any? Do I push the lever against the tool only on one direction? or both vertical and horizontal direction?

    3. why is this centering tool so important? since the manual said the combined distance should be 15mm, I can simply measure the distance and make it 15mm and call it the day, can't I?

    4. if the centering is not done right, say, off by 0.2 mm, what will happen?

    5. the manual said, after lock the finger to prescribed torque, make sure the solenoid valves are still activated.
the actuator was off the car, why actuated valves matter?
