Hi. I have sadly done less than 50 miles over the last 2 years in my 2000 model year F360 (in the UK) due to health issues. It was running fine for many years, but at the last outing it was very lumpy on tickover and low revs. If I got it above 2000 rpm things seemed normal. I have had this a few times over the years, and just turned the battery off and back on again. This time it didn't help.

Yesterday I tried the longer ECU training as detailed on the Aldous Voice website, and after the final ignition off and on again, the check engine light came on. Never had that before. The car is home now and I imagine the next step is to get a diagnostic tool on it.
It could be as a result of old fuel being in there (Shell Premium 98 Octane V-Power), but it does run sweet at higher revs and I topped it up from the empty fuel light with 5 gallons of the same stuff.
Car is kept covered outside all year round. Everything is standard apart from a rather loud Tubi exhaust.

What is the best affordable diagnostic tool for these?
Are the cheap Torque Pro ELM327 OBD scanners able to pick up the CEL faults?
Should I try another reset sequence?

Happy to get my hands dirty and any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Wow, 50 miles in two years on a car that's kept outside. There could be a number of things that could go wrong with that from gunked up fuel, other fluids, rodent damage on wires, etc.

I think as far as cheap readers go, most get the Autel AP200 or similar. I have one for my F430 and it works just fine.

I have the above mentioned OBD2 reader and it works great on my 360, I would also suggest to put an injector cleaner in the fuel tank, remove and clean the MAF sensors with the correct MAF cleaner, that would be a good start until you read the codes, and drive the car more, they suffer more from sitting and not being driven

    Thanks for the replies.

I do understand that cars need to be run, I have always done it in the past and intended to do it recently too, just didn't work out that way. I have also had lots of offers from friends (and strangers) to 'run it around a bit' for me too. :)
Keeping it outside is not ideal but the option was no Ferrari at all, so I think I chose wisely.

We don't get many rodents around here but never say never. I'll investigate and clean the MAF first and then put some injector cleaner in, good calls thanks and simple enough to do. Will try to get an OBD reading from it before taking it out again though.

Cheers for confirming the Autel AP200 works. Not sure I like the fact it works on just one car and then you pay again for any other car. If anyone has experience using other code readers on the 360 please let me know.
