430 or 360 Challenge Stradale????? Well I think that the 360 CS is way better looking than the 430 CS. All the changes on the 430 are the exhaust and a couple more things..... I think the option of the stripe is no longer available..... Well what do you all think?
If you are basing it on the spy photos of the new 430 "CS", then yes I agree that the 360 is better looking....but I dont think we have seen the final 430 yet!
Let me guess....You got a 360CS!!! All jokes aside, i agree. But given the choice once all the unknowns are exposed about the 430Cs, I probably would prefer that. (assuming the price point wasnt NASAish)
I hope they fixed the radio skiping all the time. That is the only bad part about the 360 CS but is a really good car since the f40 i think. Oh ofcourse not including the master piece ENZO uhh i love that ferrari.
So there will actually be a 430CS? I guess I've been sleeping under a rock, but I thought I remembered a bunch of crap about air bag regulations, etc., preventing Ferrari from producing one. Not that I'm complaining, but what was the change? Oh, and someone please post those spy photos, or a link to them.
If this is what the Challenge cars looks like, The LP will be hot. The rear grille, with higher pipes and lower stance look incredible... If they put lowered body panels on the 430 LP like they did with the 360 CS, its gonna look at least as good as if not better than the 360CS... IMO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdpzTVmYZgo&mode=related&search=
Heres a clip of the alleged LP at Fiorano... This is more credible. If you hit pause at the right time, you will see that there are 5 lug nuts on the wheels as opposed to the Challenges single center locking lug. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaANUPOy6NU Sounds incredible. All it needs is lowered body work!
Is this a seat of the pants response? I have had my CS and a 430 do a little run. The 430 is side by side me during a 50-130 pull, I actualy pull a touch on the shift! All I have done is Tubi NGT and after market cats, remove tool kit, spare tire, all un needed items. I don't see 100hp more in power.
very interesting..my first thought was that it might be a challenge car...but nope..you are right about the lug nuts...plus there is no fast filler cap
Dream on Artie. The 430 is a lovely full figured lady that wallows through the corners and gasps for breath trying to fight the weight pushing it into the wall. The CS is a demon that changes direction faster than you can blink and runs away from the 430 on anything but the Bonneville Salt Flats. If they really make a 430 CS type car it will be wonderful, but they have to shave at least 500 lbs from the pig and give it another 50 horses. Don't hold your breath for anything other than some cosmetic changes in the Light Pista version.
Sure, that's why I was able to run nose to tail with a well-driven CS at Sears Point, a handling track, for an entire session a few weeks ago. I guess I must be Schumie. In all seriousness, there seems to be little difference between the cars on the track, with the *slightly* better power-to-weight of the 430 being offset by the *slightly* better handling of the lighter CS. Gary
The difference according to Ferrari is more like 60 hp, not 100 (425 to 483) and when you factor in the lighter weight of the CS the lbs/hp is not that far off. The 430 does have superior torque and will pull harder off corners in a track situation, but it's not terribly dramatic. Gary
sounds exaggerated 430 is about a 100lbs heavier than a 360 i expect to see same kind of 200lbs or so weight reduction into the LP/CS version so 360cs and 430lp should be still about 100lbs difference US cars may not get evrything out of the box but that's not the point ferrari will do the same CF doors, mirros, grill and seats, wheels, CCM, exhaust and interior mods..should get same weight reduction
the 430s that have driven will smoke the 360, in a straight line and on a twisty track,....therefore, i suspect the 430 cs will similarily smoke the 360cs....if fact, i give it a 100% chance!!! Now i just wish Ferrari would offer their CS cars with a manual tranny!!
I thought Ferrari was not aloud to use the Sport Seats anymore, thats why you only see them available in the 05 cars.... too me a 430CS without sports seats would be a tough sell.... what do you think?
it's sad but i think people will adjust and either buy them afterwards from europe or put aftermarket track seats..the same thing goes on with GT3/RS in US
I hope you are very wrong. I am encouraged by what I hear from my contacts that Ferrari are serious about the "Light" part of the name. I am going for the 430LP. I read that you are going for the successor of the 430. I am betting that the 430LP will be an even bigger step forward from the 430 than the CS was from the 360. The 997 GT3RS is killer and the 599 is potent. Pressure will be on to make the 430LP really something
