Hi All, My F360 spider had a dead battery while in the paint shop. The battery was charged up, it will start but won’t go into gear. It’s an automatic. This red dash light is blinding while the car is running. I heard it might be the F1 pump or relay? Any insights how to test those parts or manually prime the F1 pump? thanks, Dave Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hoping that they didn't "boost" car while trying to start it Hoping they didn't weld anything Try disconnecting battery for a hour and then connect and see what happens A diag tool to read codes will be necessary to see why code is on Guessing at this point is pointless What year is the car ?
@Stout360 Are you getting an engine lid open warning? Is your foot on the brake? From the WSM: Engine Compartment Lid Switch The "lid open" message reaches both the TCU and the alarm system ECU, through an ON-OFF switch that closes the circuit to ground. If this happens, with the car at a stop, the engine running, a gear engaged and foot brake/accelerator pedals untouched, the system activates the acoustic alarm and releases the gear setting itself in neutral position. The switch is placed on the respective opening device (H 2.13). Also: • With the engine running and the car at rest, if the driver's door is opened without pressing the brake pedal, the gear is automatically disengaged and shifted to neutral. Is your foot on the brake? Is your brake pedal switch working? Experts: will this stop a gear selection or will the gear select, then fall back to neutral?
Great catch .. didn't even think of the obvious .. can't make out car symbol in info display .. but def can be showing lid is up
Yes, I have had instances were I had to press real hard on the brake pedal to get engagement from the gear box. Although this was usually after parked on an decline with emergency brake engaged.
Does any of the logic in post #4 generate an F1 warning light (as seen in the photo)? Experts: Does the emergency brake repositon the brake pedal or make the pedal harder to move away from the brake pedal switch? I've heard of hydraulic issues limiting the travel of the brake pedal, but are hydraulics involved in the emergency brake system?
