t88power, it was hard for me to insure my white Ferrari 328gts while I was there because it wasn't financed, I drove it for 4 years over there and it was fun and scary, always fast and extreme and never got a ticket. I'm surprised that I moved back with the Ferrari and me in one piece. So now I'm just wondering, how in the world could anyone want or need anything faster than a 360 in P.R. I think a Dino fits perfectly with the scenery and the whole aura, the only issue I have is the a.c. on the Dino, the heat and humidity is terrible over there.

I'll try to get a test drive of an 06 on my next trip to Miami next.

There are plenty of roads to open a sports car up in PR. Problem is, most roads are build like crap and other drivers usually are either driving poorly or driving 45mph on the highway. It could be worse though. Seriously considering buying the next car and keeping it in NY or Miami - its depressing to keep missing all those awesome events/track days stateside (nothing like that in PR).

You hit the nail right on the head there (see previous comment). Probably get much more out of an F430 of Gallardo in Miami than in PR. Insurance killed me - around $5,000/year for the 360M.

Personally I would stick with the F430, but it doesn't seem like you're leaning in that direction.

May I suggest maybe the combo of the Elise and Dino?

I know a few people who daily drive their Elises and have had no problems. The Elise could be your weekday car and the Dino a fun car to take out on the weekends.

I recently traded my 360M for a 360CS and the two cars are like night and day. The Cs is more agressive in the way it looks and performs.

Also very limited production so values should hold much better then the Modena or 430's'

In PR? I'd buy a lotus Elise. (40grand)

    In the USA? I'd suggest a Ferrari 550. (95 to 110 grand)

Two fun cars and suited to the country and its roadways.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

Ernesto, I like your summation of the "feel/drive" of the cars on your list. I had a 550, and in the right situation would love to have another but you do feel the weight and I did not enjoy the driving as much for my narrow mountain roads as much as the 360. If your roads are more open, the 550/575 would be wonderful and a good deal too.
If I could afford it, i would get a cgt as my next car.
Good luck and keep us posted.

PR has plenty of open roads as well as mountain twisties, the problem is poor condition of the streets (potholes, manhole covers on the highway, etc) and other drivers (drive 45mph on the highway, go slow on the fast lane) - no structure. You lose the "fun factor" very quickly. Add to that practically no club events worth while, and the whole experience dimishes quickly. Thats why I'll probably buy something stateside and keep it there. Although It'll get less use, it'll be higher quality use (events, tracks, better roads, etc).

Also, stateside I avoid the 30-40% importat tax, so I can buy more for the money - in Puerto Rico, a brand new 360 would cost $235K last year.

^^^ Ernesto can you afford to move to the States? I mean you can move over here and travel, but that is if your bussines is flexible enough to allow you to do this, my father has done it since '85.

Not right now. I would *LOVE* to, I need to be here to keep things rolling. For now, it is more practical to leave a weekend or two a month to Miami or NY than the other way around. My goal is to move back to the mainland US after a few current real estate projects are completed. Trust me, I cant wait.

It's clear to me that you need to go stright from the 360 to F430... Obviouly, you're in for a fun driving with great sound, fast acceleration and exotic... that's the F430. The Dino is very gorgeous but very boring to drive compare to the 360. The Bentley is definitely old man's car. Lambo is, you're right, Audi or German feeling, no longer Italian exotic... just my 2 cents.

I've met Angel Bello a few times, but I don't see him that often anymore since I stopped participating in the local Ferrari Club "events" a few years ago. If I do see him, I'll send your regards.
