What do they mean by 'Series 1.5' F40? Looking at their other social media, I also see them use the term 'Series 2'. https://www.instagram.com/p/CpV0UuSKeVX/ I've never seen this term used before regarding the F40, myself. I'm aware the F40 saw numerous changes throughout its production (particularly the Euro/RoW-spec model) but have not seen these changes referred to in 'series' before.
I don't think it is a factory term, just a way of differentiating the evolution of the specs by the market
I think people are making up terminology for their own criteria as they go along, anyway, both suggested total numbers for original Lexan Sliding Windows F40 are less than the actual recorded number.
Yes, certainly not a widely used phrase (regardless of the accuracy of the production numbers quoted)... just pointing out where it had been posted on this board before...
https://www.instagram.com/p/CbagPBTNsry/ March 2022, where it should have been already nardo grey for 3 years according to the current seller... There are plenty of other pictures from other sources online that show the car in giallo and race trim up until June / July 2022
could you share the numbers that you have in regard to Lexan windows? Less than 55? That sounds very interesting
Those guys "fsc24.ch" have no idea what they are talking about on IG. Please do not believe all the nonsense found on the internet. Marcel Massini
I think the topic was less about the slider windows where different numbers have been circulating since decades and not only recently, the main topic here is #80782 Marcel, as the expert in Ferrari, maybe you can explain if the car underwent repaint at Zanasi in 2019 ( as the current seller claims ) or in mid-2022?
As Marcel says, the actual number of Lexan Sliding Windows cars is just under 100 cars, so they are the rarest F40 production variant, if you looks at any gathering of F40s such as the recent factory event, an LSW F40 is truly rare. It's also the original F40 concept. I retained Marcel to put together a Registry of those LSW F40s (proprietary information) which he kindly did after not inconsiderable effort, so we can keep track of these special F40s for posterity.
Saw this coming ever since Curated announced their acquisition of the car with a yellow period photo. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, and so the story of #80782 continues..... A wise man suggested to bring it back to stock condition, finally install an odometer ( Question would be with which mileage ) that has been removed over 30 years ago when it was converted to a race car, apply for Classiche and paint it in rosso-corsa with stoffa vigogna interior instead of painting in an Audi color. It was born and delivered as a "regular "F40, non-cat / non adjust, less than 400 units made. I can not see how it will sell for 3 Mio USD plus even after another 200-300k or more will be invested to "bring it back" to giallo which has always looked aweful on that unit just in my personal opinion and according to my taste.
Here's the Dutch-registered 80782 in June 1991 at Zandvoort circuit, before it became the yellow F40 race-car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
