I'm sure you will find someone you can buy the F40. If you want to sell right away maybe its not a great idea, but if you're in no rush I say bring it to Montreal.
The F40 isn't a car you can use everyday in a city like Montreal, same could be said for a Diablo or a Countach. Whenever I go to John Scotti automotive , I always see some Lamborghini Countach's and Diablo's that have been sitting there more than 3 years.

If the F40 comes to Montreal please tell me. (send me a private message or whatever)
    I want to see it!!!

    Steve,
Bring it out west. Alberta has a lot of money.
Maybe ZR will add another one to the stable

    Not many.
According to market values and today's currency rates: anywhere from $375K to $430K, Canadian of course.

    Steve,

It's not street legal, is it?

Where is the car originally from? US? Europe?

  6. I would say that it's worth slightly more than that, commanding the "Canadian rare car premium" and would sell for slightly less than half a million.
Bring it in - Toronto is swimming in cash these days.

Come to think of it, used Ferrari's do tend to sell for about 20% more in Canada than what they generally go for in the US.

    Gooooooooood luck!

I believe that there were only a hand full (and by that I mean less than 5 fingers) of non-red F40's ever produced; let alone a Euro model with mileage. All the F40's I ever came across were garage queens.....and red!

Hey BMWracer........here's the cheapest one that I found.

It's an interesting question that you posed Steve......

If you have selected a weekend date, the nearest business dates are used instead.
Conversions are based on Bank of Canada "nominal rates", which are neither buying nor selling rates. Rates available from financial institutions will likely differ.

Add 6.1 % duty and you are at $343,764 CAD before freight.

And that's for a car on which you cannot "as easily" verify it's pedigree, let alone anything else......as you could on one originally sold in the US for their market....

So for that kind of money....I'd shop south of the border for an original US F40. Black on Black has one for $325K USD "asking"........and Lambo Dallas has one as well....the B&B car would land here at $417,000 CA (more or less)....

I guess for the $74K CAD difference between these cars you'd have some serious due diligence to perform if you were planning to buy one............but that's the nature of the marketplace.....

Crapped out Boxers are another matter entirely......

Don't sell it or if you do, unload it in the states and play the spreads on the currency. Extra icing for your cake.
