Can anyone recommend how to adjust the F40 alternator belt tension? The manual says 130-135 using a Staeger type tensioner. Where do you buy one or is there an alternative?

My belt broke today so I'm guessing the tension it important and I had it too tight.

BTW, when the belt broke the battery light came on and then the water temp light a minute later. The water temp shot up and I shut down the car and flat-bedded it home. The overflow tank was spilling coolant.

    Hi Bill,

I use a Clavis Type 4. Fabulous bit of kit, though i'm sure there are others out there.

Sure hope you're F40 is ok and you shut her down in time.

    Cheers

Typical, when the belt broke the alternator lost power and the battery tried to take over....get that belt torqued right and you should be good to go!

Thanks. When Ferrari says 130-135, what are the units?
