A few months ago I found out there are not many pictures and video's of the F40 Barchetta Beurlys. If you like to read more about this car you can find more info here: http://www.gtspirit.com/2012/02/26/remarkable-cars-ferrari-f40-barchetta-beurlys/

A week ago I had the chance to take some photo's and make a video of this unique car with it's 760 hp F40 LM engine in the 800 kg body! The Barchetta was on the TT circuit in Assen (The Netherlands) for a shake down after being prepared by a Dutch Ferrari specialist.

The photos, from a photographic stand-point, are great. However, I can't stand what they've done to the car. It was a perfectly good F40 until they made it into this abomination. Sorry, but different strokes for different folks I guess...

Thanks for getting new pictures. I love this car.

Put this to the people against as a case for. Ferrari itself has often cut and modified cars from the beginning through. This happened in the creation of the F40, from the 288s and there are countless mules and such. The Enzo mule has ended up with a model it is so well known.

There is also no shortage of the test and crash photos where Ferrari didn't bother getting the colours matching on panels, to the other extreme of famous endurance racers being restored back to roof, restored back to no roof etc. Sometimes the effort with the saw for public shown race cars looked to get the same effort as the saw for factory tests... It's Ferrari.

Here is a non-Factory modified Ferrari, that is at a track running. It's not in a caravan, maybe in Spain being hidden from the Tax Office, it's not in pieces missing an engine in a wreckers. It's on track screaming, and some guys are turning a wheel and shifting gears.

It looks terrible, I hate the glass-line, and the roll-hoop looks like an after-thought. I still think SEGA came up with the best look for the F40 chop, but it's all eye beholder stuff. It sounds terrible too - again my opinion. But it's out there doing it's thing - and for that I will always have time to appreciate this car.

I am not sure if they really used an F40 for this Barchetta version, if you look at the front suspension you'll see it doesnt look like an F40 at all. I am not sure what they have done back then.
