I have a 91 f40 did Lm turbos chip exhaust ect rwdynoed the car and the best I could get was 480hp at the wheels before the computer would kick in and not let you increase the boost any further even though by the exhaust readings it seamed safe to raise the boost some more. any comments on how to increase hp from here?

a normal F40 should be 1.8 bar. An LM is ajustable from 1.85 bar to 2.35bar with a qualifying mode (accessed via computer) 2.50bar.
Not sure if this helps but there you go.

Classic Coach has extensive experice with modifying F-40's. From what i know they have on multiple occasions raised the boost cut on the F-40's. Contact either Felix or Rocco at Classic Coach (908)-352-3939. and they should be able to answer all your questions and put you in the right directions regarding this problem.

Just off the top of my head i think with 480 at the wheel you might me maxing out your injectors but again i am no expert so give CC a call and mention my name.

480 whp is impressive for a stock car. Your max boost is 22psi only momentairly. 17 psi in the norm. You can install a pressure regulator to fool the computer but it is risky. As long as you don't exceed 22psi your ok for short bursts. Try retesting the car with 116 octane race gas, unleaded only. What correction factor got you the 480 WHP? From your numbers you didn't use 93 octane, or it was really cold outside.

Ive taken my car to the dyno 3 times. It always read a little rich so we tried adjusting the fuel pressure with a pressure regulator, but ended up being a waste of time. we thought it might work since even with kn filters when we took the filters off the mixture got better and the hp went up.

There is a big difference in the mixture on the dyno and at speed. At speed, the airbox pressure is higher so the mixture goes lean. Also, the inlet air temp is lower due to the intercoolers getting airflow. You need the safety factor. Be careful dyno testing. The lean backfire as the ECU cuts the fuel will damage your turbos, all it takes is once!

The motor is mapped up to 21/22 psi. Be sure to back off your wastegate as far as possible so it reacts more quickly.

Make sure your reading the EGT before the turbo.

the person working on the car is a friend of mine the owner of turbo werks in Ft. Laud FL. he's a lot more experienced with porsche turbos. What in your opinion is the next step in safely increasing HP if possible without spending a fortune. by the way thanks for your help

Buy a twin turbo Supra! You are really at the limit. You can't really change anything. You are at the limit of tuning with the stock ECU. If you had a programmable ECU you could probable tune another 100 hp in the car. I'm currently doing a MOTEC conversion. Without a proper ECU your kind of stuck. Rick may be able to elaborate on his set-up. None of this is cheap. I'm $20K into the MOTEC stuff so far and that is just parts. You have to change all of the sensors, connectors, etc, as well as make a new harness. I elected to do the MOTEC dash as well.
