OK so when I munched my left side Turbo I destroyed the catalytic converter in the process. Can anybody help with sourcing a new or used cat or let me know if and where I can get my damaged cat rebuilt?

    Thanks!

Ferrari Uk is your best bet. An expensive proposition to get a new one. About $3k if I remember correctly. Rutlands certainly will have one. At one time there was a used set on EBAY for about $700. Get a set of test pipes from Dean Romer at WWOC, or have the guys at Burns Stainless (Carobu Engineering) build you some. What are you going to do with the bad one. I may be interested in it since I have a bad right one.

Yup I have the test pipes in now with the street Tubi, I'm hoping to send the left one out to be repaired. I saw the set on ebay several months ago and laughed... I wish I had my crystal ball working but it was in the shop that day.

I have just about every variation of TubI F40 exhaust. My favorite is the sport muffler with the LM pipes. I have been stopped 34 times and only received a warning for 65 in a 55. Everytime they inspect the exhaust system and ask about the cats. I tell them that the sport mufflers are the cats and that the LM pipes are my cat back exhaust. Seems to work. My next set-up will be a set of BURNS stainless mufflers and custom pipes. Be sure to have your idle mixture adjusted for the new exhaust and the wastegate modified or at least adjusted. The lack of back pressure richens the idle mixture and causes the plugs to foul easily on start-up. The new denso or NGK iridium plugs are great for reducing fouling.

What are you, a hippie tree hugger!

Just put it a straight pipe and get rid of the other one as well, more power and cheaper too.

Bill at GT Car Parts in Phoenix can rebuild your cat.... Tate called me today to see if I could help you, but I do not have a spare....

Try Bill, I think he may be your best chance, otherwise dies Hyperflow offer a cat for our cars?

Thanks Chris, I'll check with GT Car Parts. I'll check with Hyperflow but I don't see anything for the F40 offered. I'll run with my test pipes and the tub street exhaust until I get it rebuilt. I was running the cats with LM pipes and it sounded very sweet, test tubes and LM's were a little too much for my tastes!

Looks like I'll be going with the sports exhaust and test pipes for the future. Figures I just spent the last week dialing in the wastegate after the turbo replacement....
