f40 colours! sorry if its been asked a million times

I have a video of a yellow one from 1998 going round Snetterton. If I get the registration details, would someone be able to confirm whether or not it was painted?

 

They were all red originally. Rod Stewart did at one time have a yellow F40.

There is a guy in France near Bayonne who asked the factory to paint the F-40 he ordered in Yellow. The Ferrari factory refused. He waited for his car to be delivered, then he asked the dealer to repaint the car in Yellow. Car was used as a daily driver and if I remember well, purchased through Daverat S.A. (Bayonne - West/South of France).
Originally, all F-40 were delivered red.
All 288GTO were red too except one prototype painted yellow by the factory. Other off-color 288 (Black, Silver) were repaints.

 

i've seen a blue one online and a black one also, and a dark grey one.

 

The blue on is repainted, there are like 5 black ones in the wolrd, probably repainted, and the grey one belongs to the Sultan of Brunei, also right hand steering....

That car has also been completely redone in and out, and is now red like the rest of them. Resides in the UK.

The white F40 is still my favorite...

 

I prefer red.

 

So how do you repaint carbon fiber? You can't sand it, you can put chemicals on it, what do you do? (besides leave it red, of course!)
